I've always wondered what kind of work goes into sample clearance and why this one was particularly a bitch to clear. Did they not care about doing it until now or was Edgar Froese not willing to let them sample it? I've noticed he's dead now (sad to hear actually since he is a pioneer in electronic music) but he wasn't when the track first came out, so did that have a role to play with it?Sherbet Head wrote:Yeah, as much as I'm trying not to get my hopes up, that did cross my mind too.
Like luminousdusk said, it shows they're still reflecting on their older work. Not only that, but Warp have evidently stepped up their sample clearance game for this one, which is something that's necessary should we ever get an archival box set of some kind.
A lot of questions honestly, and perhaps some of the answers would allow us to know what's going on with Boc lately. Our buddy MDG would come in handy.
