Just heard Andy Weatherall has pass away. He was only 56. What a huge loss.

Still have fond memories of a particular night out in Belfast, must be 25 or so years ago...the only tune that stands out from that night was his remix of 'Soon'...

Awful news; this hit me really hard yesterday.

He had a hand in so many of my favourite records over the years. A Weatherall production or remix credit always meant two things - you were about to hear something really interesting and the original artist, in the case of a remix, would be worth looking out for too, such was AW’s taste. He’s almost like someone like Bowie in the way that he and his influence had steered music culture, certainly in the U.K., since the late 80s. That pick & mix approach that led to Loaded is pretty much how we *all* listen to music now - a bit of rock, some electronics, some soul, a whole lot of dubby bass - anything goes as long as it’s good.
