I wonder what's going on.

While I'm at it, does anybody here have the high resolution scans of the cassette covers offered on the site? I would like to make some bootlegs.

Oh you didn't get the email? Warp sent a cease and desist letter since remastered versions of all the tracks and more are being released on June 9th 2020.

It's probably like the subreddit closing for a short bit. Probably has something to do with the owners moreso than BOC themselves.

These are definitely the cleanest, highest resolution scans we have and it's a bit of a mystery where it all comes from because the "Doors of Perception" guy was supposedly faking everything for donations. I asked Techboy about this and he thinks that "Doors of Perception" meticulously sketched over the low res scans by drawing pixels or something, but that's a hell of a length to go to.

I'm really unsure about that whole Doors Of Perception incident. Some of those FLAC files sound a lot better than spiced up MP3's ever could. And the artwork is really high quality.

Though, songs like We've Started Up still sounds like hot trash. It doesn't sound like a poor cassette recording, it sounds like a realaudio file or something. Same with Statue Of Liberty, Staircase Whip, David Came To Mahana'im etc.

This would be a very time consuming task indeed if it was done just for the donations. I really don't know what to make of it. I do listen to these versions of the tapes though as they definetely sound the best.

I hope they will reissue their old stuff someday. I would buy it regardless of price. Just imagine Old Tunes on double vinyl...

I would honestly be as excited about this as I would with an entirely new album. They were discussing it 10 years ago so I don't really know why they haven't done it. It's not like anything has been leaked since then (not since 2004, and they were saying they might release old stuff years after that.)
