On some of the official pages like Facebook there was a photo of geometrical object floating above the sea. I can't seem to find it any more. I've seen it a couple of months ago. Anyone knows what I am talking about?

The Instagram just liked my friend's comment on the new video: "Hopefully this is the start of something good!"

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
It was one of page covers I think. At that time there was a discussion in Societas X thread about Wind Tunnel sample and I remember making a post referring to 30,000ft plus seeing that photo of a floating object and I made a comment how cool it would be if their next album would be space-themed. I am also pretty sure the date of the photo was some time around Societas X, not so recent. But now it seems to be gone. Please someone else confirm this wasn't a dream. This is my post from that time.bungler666 wrote:They posted something on Facebook??Moz wrote:On some of the official pages like Facebook there was a photo of geometrical object floating above the sea. Ugh I don't know what to believe or think right now! Anyone courageous enough to reach out to PIC on IG and ask him if this account is legit?

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I'm curious too. But I have a feeling he would know if it were real. The guy took virtually all of their publicity photos (for the TH era too) and Geogaddi's album cover. He's definitely inner circle with them.burst__of__indigo wrote:Ugh I don't know what to believe or think right now! Absolutely, and that's why I'm inclined to believe there's something to this...I had no idea he was following it until it was mentioned above (don't check IG much anymore).Echelon wrote:I'm curious too. Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
The account is obviously legit but it should be obvious to anyone who has seen this social media activity over the past 3 years that it doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. Getting hyped over something like this is a bit stupid, you should already know it's in the works, I doubt they'd leave their fanbase hanging like that without a final statement saying they're retiring.

It's the close proximity of the likes and liking things that hint at something happening soon that are the reason for hype. Plus them liking things that hint at even more than a new album (i.e. unreleased music. Which surprised me because these guys are notoriously paranoid about their unreleased music.)
They're my favorite band so of course I'm going to be hyped at any hints at the future. Nothing wrong with that, friend.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
They're not hints, it's community interaction, and it's what a lot of artist's social media accounts do without necessarily meaning anything unless it's an explicit statement because the like can mean any number of different things. It is also known that their social media accounts are managed by other people.Echelon wrote:sixtyniner wrote:The account is obviously legit but it should be obvious to anyone who has seen this social media activity over the past 3 years that it doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. Obviously being excited about a new release is fine, but don't set yourself up for disappointment is all I'm saying. "They've" been doing this exact thing for 3 years. I remember that years ago "they" even liked someone's post on their facebook asking them to perform live, but obviously nothing has happened since then either.MDG: "to clear this up: the myspace page was taken over by warp some time ago, and is now maintained by both warp staff and a couple of friends of the band, on a 'when time permits' basis."

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
In my mind, they are going to drop a new record sometime soon. And some time after that, their box set. Like they did with the whole album represses in late 2013. That would be a perfect storm for them.

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC
I guess we'll see. It feels a bit different this time because of the amount of activity. They usually do a few likes and disappear. This seems to be getting more and more common along with videos.sixtyniner wrote:They're not hints, it's community interaction, and it's what a lot of artist's social media accounts do without necessarily meaning anything unless it's an explicit statement because the like can mean any number of different things. And call it a feeling, but for some reason I feel that this "community interaction" with the likes is more meaningful for BOC than other artists. Because this is the only way they choose to communicate.
I'm personally with Arvy on this. But I know not to get too hopeful until there are further signs.
