The way I've got the tracks laid out on my iPod causes FOSATD (see that? I shortened it) to play as track #1 on Geogaddi.. kinda sets the mood for the album I think.
Plus, "Ready Lets Go".. just sounds like something a kid would say. Hell, I say it all the time now around the house.
Only thing I could ask for is a FOSATD reprise, just for me!

I love FOSATD. It's yet another track that is fairly simple in structure but has infinite depth. The synth bit alone is amazing, and the kid samples take it to another level.
Considering how good this one is, along with Macquarie Ridge, the brothers don't just slap some leftover track on for the Japanese releases, do they?

FOSATD is utterly breathtaking. I've caught myself oozing tears every once in a while after hearing it. It's funny how it's almost totally opposite the vibe of Geogaddi, yet at the same time, it isn't. It's like the "answer" to the question Geogaddi as an album is asking.zander two wrote:I love FOSATD. Especially when the kid says: "god is someone who rue the whirl" -- that's a true chills-down-my-spine moment!mechanismj wrote:FOSATD is utterly breathtaking. Have a listen to "Family of God" by Family of God (Trk7, CD1.) - http://www.ochre.co.uk/och004lcd.htm
Don't know much about it, but I heard it on this David Holmes mix - http://www.discogs.com/release/66736

one of the main points of that track and indeed the album is for boc to suggest something that i don't think anyone has ever really thought of before or at least not seriously.
everything the little kids say is standard god-fare, bland stuff that their parents have planted word for word in their little mouths. chilling if you really think about it. but what about the little girl who suggests
". . . and that's what would happen if God wasn't nice."
who the hell were HER parents? how did she ever think to question God's goodness of all things. I mean, God and good are synonomous. It's not even something you question.
i think all througout geogaddi that is exactly what boc is doing, positing the indistinction of god and the devil.
