I'm very much a skeptic of any of these theories, but 1/22 is also the date of the last received transmission from the Pioneer probe, and the Hell Interface YouTube channel recently updated its banner to the Pioneer Plaque.

Well, if they're going to announce anything on that new catalog site, it'll be after Wednesday, maybe on Wednesday. I know someone pointed out that Bleep was selling a 2020 complete bundle, (so there may not be anymore physical releases) but I have a feeling that if this was a new digital single from BOC, they'd want it to be separate from everything else. Besides, I don't know if that bundle actually packages standalone singles and remixes anyway.

I'm actually going to hold out hope that they're going to announce something with the catalog site. It looks too much like an advent calendar to go to waste.

Nice! I have a feeling there's actually going to be some festivities this season from Warp. Might have been cheesy before, but 2020 seems as good a time as any to share some positive art with people. Was the whole purpose of that Earth Catalog of theirs.

So, looking back, all summer we got this social media activity. For a while, consistent likes on IG and Twitter, and the six IG posts which were really unverified until the Warp/Bandcamp announcement (on 12/1). We have not heard anything from their social media pages since the day after, 12/2, (when they went on their twitter liking spree, I think another acknowledgement that this is indeed legit BOC presence). I still think Warp must have also asked them about LP5 when they asked for something to contribute to WARP30. I think they are just going another way than what they did with TH--making it accessible to everyone, getting the hype going when everyone is in lock down, still unsure if it could be "real"--and now that we know all of this presence is indeed official, they're making us hold out one last time. The Pioneer Plaque reference and their comment on not making us wait longer for LP5 than we waited between TCH and TH makes me pretty optimistic for an announcement on or by 1/22.

I've heard this mentioned a couple of times, but I've never actually come across the quote myself despite having read a bunch of interviews. Does anyone have a source for this?

I did a big search for it last year. It came from an email from MDG to Joyrex where he said "they have the desire to get it done faster."

Which makes it all the more snarky and funny that it might take them one day less than TH to TCH.

that's a great find. I remember fruitlessly going around on google maps trying to find where they took the picture that they used for Acid Memories' cover art. never found it, probably isn't even in the Pentland Hills assuming the pic is dated around '87.

Cheers, Yeah i think i remember you mentioning looking for the acid memories cover location. That would be like a needle in a haystack!

So Warp have a big release about every two months. Last big release was OPN/Plus at the end of Oct. Since then, it's only been minor EPs and remixes and singles. I'm making a prediction that soon we'll get some kind of blockbuster release. Everything just fits well with the Warp's own schedule and such.

Perhaps even an announcement today or Christmas itself.
