Magic Windows - Ernest Nister (1981 Children's Book)

I found this children's book in my daughter's bookshelf that my partner was given as a birthday present way back in 1983. I have seen it before and acknowledged in my head that it shares the name (nearly!) of the Geogaddi track but yesterday I opened it up to have a closer look. Here are some images of the book:

The way the images change from one to the other by pulling the ribbon reminded me of the Geogaddi album cover. The book was first published in the UK in 1981 so perhaps this could have been an influence in some way?

That is a beautiful book! Thanks for sharing. I get deep Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness vibes from it, but it's hard not to connect the title of the book to BoC. Great find!!

Man that would have been a cool concept for Geogaddi's vinyl release. It must cost too much to do this kind of stuff nowadays. Think Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick album with the the newspaper style fold-out and their Stand-Up album with the pop-ups. Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti with the cool spinwheel...
This magic window stuff with the ribbon tab was a lost opportunity. Unless there's a release out there that did this?
