The helmets felt less like a gimmick as time went on. Once other acts started doing it, like Deadmau5 and Marshmallow, it really shed a light on how Daft Punk were pioneers not just musically, but aesthetically as well. I still wouldn't know if Daft Punk walked past me on the street if they weren't helmeted. The commitment completely sold the helmets.

From the critics, but not necessarily from the fans. TH was perhaps the most divisive release; and RAM imo was not worth the hype. I think those sentiments are shared by a good amount of people.

The Campfire Headphase was definitely the most divisive BoC release, I think. If you look back at posts here, the album leaked and some people were convinced it had to be fake. A lot of people were very disappointed with the change of sound.

Actually you can look back at old mailing list posts and see Geogaddi had it's fair share of detractors too. Not everyone loves every album.

Litterally every album that wasn't Music Has The Right To children as been controversial to some extencte.

Btw, I had a great idea involving Bad Day. For Warp 40, they can do an ultra-special Peel session with XYZ and Bad Day on it. Then for Warp 50, they can put in Marcus talking about his favorite color!
