the reversed one yes.
I mean, how the hell did they found a such unique chord progression, a such beautiful synth sound that reminds me of those number stations (its weird, I never managed to actually create the same sound or similar, even if it sound easy to replicate), with the three different voices (bass, medium and the lead/high one) in a such perfect counterpoint both rythmically and harmonically - well i know, these guys are geniuses indeed, and this question may sound silly as its something very subjective, but this one obsesses me since I listened to it "reversed" for the first time.

Thanks! Looks like this page has been around since Aug 23 2008. Really nice catch!

I feel like, regardless of anyone's skepticism, the banner suggests that they are probably in a pretty advanced stage with regards to the concept they're currently working with. They previewed Tomorrow's Harvest with their nuclear explosion website banner. Seeing that they were working with the plaque as a concept very early on after TCH makes the banner update seem very indicative of forward progress with whatever this project is. Obviously, at the time, there was talk of multiple records going on at once, so it's not crazy to assume that this was a simultaneous or sort of parallel project to Tomorrow's Harvest. Hopefully, things will get revealed sooner rather than later.

I like where your head's at! Though why only the Hell Interface page? Why not the main BoC page? Was the nuclear explosion banner also intro'd on HI vs BoC?

I too am certain that it will fall in line aesthetically with whatever comes next; however, not convinced at all that it's coming soon. If nothing occurs tomorrow, then afaic, there is no real evidence of anything coming soon.

the existence of this Pioneer Plaque image is far less earth shattering than if the exact editted image as the Hell Interface youtube banner had existed previously. if someone finds that, i'll calm down a bit about tomorrow. i still think something might happen though, as it stands.

"Tunes can wait around several years in a demo state before undergoing the duo's deliberate degradation technique. "One thing we tried to do," pursues Eoin, "and we're trying to do more of, is a sense that you're hearing a piece of music that comes through the wringer a bit - it's definitely not coming literally. It's not just a guy standing in front of you with the latest keyboard workstation. There's a sense that you're listening to a tune, but how many times has that been copied from tape to tape to tape... by the time it's reached you it's crumbled, it's turned into powder. "You hear about monks in the Middles ages using a pen to create a Bible or a piece of art, and they'll do it for 40 years in the dark underneath a monastery," he continues, "and they'll be blind by the time they've finished. And some people really appreciate art like that, because there's something really tragic about it. It's almost like it's more beautiful than any other art, because instead of it being someone comfortably painting something in a day, there's something absolutely tragic and destroyed about it. So I always think you can still go further up the run from 'beautiful music', and that's beautiful music that seems to come out of some tragedy or brokenness. It becomes even more beautiful, the shards if the sound coming through are even more vibrant and affecting."

The Wire, October 2005

https://bocpages.org/wiki/Protect_and_S ... interview)

I think Marcus Eoin, at least, would be happy with a 40 year window between releases

They mentioned that hours of music hit the cutting room floor as they made TH. I would love to hear what didn't fit the project--maybe tunes closer to the sound of Left Side Drive? Based on their euphoric remixes post TH, something tells me they never left that polished "future" sound.

Couldn't have said better myself, this melody and that explanation is exactly what I meant the other day, as SamuraiDrifter said: the 'secret sauce' they have.

Yeah, I was thinking a lot about that after digging up MDG's comment that there was "more than one record in an advanced stage," which was in 2009, around a year after the Pioneer Plaque image apparently first appeared.

In the past, BoC have mentioned having a "chaotic" process where they work on things in parallel. My guess is that they have a few massive projects (like Geogaddi or TH level massive) in various stages of development at any given point. They probably bounce around a lot between them and very well might get far into one before abandoning it for one reason or another (losing interest, inspiration, etc.)

The more I think about it, seeing the Pioneer Plaque banner resurface after it first showed up around the time they'd have started working on their post TCH projects seems to signify that something they've had in the works for a long time is coming.

Yes that page has been around since the very early days of bocpages. When bocpages was in ownership of DavidAC he had a Misc section on the pages and that contained this information. That's before 2004.

Mhtrtc was just a little far away from my generatio, the Geogaddi is directly connected to my discoveries of electronic music. My first boc track was from Geogaddi and overall boc took my attention because of this album.
I was introduced pretty late to boc, maybe three years ago only or so. geogaddi is my favorite album of all time and as a """producer""" (i insist on the quote marks), I still can't figure out how they turned the flutes/whistles or whatever on Julie and Candy into this cacophony using two tape decks, how the hell they found that melody in Dandelion (one of my favorite melody they ever wrote), the "bleep" sound in The Beach at Redpoint, the drums/percussions on Gyroscope, if the flute on Opening the Mouth is actually sampled from another record or played by them, and a lot of other things - but I don't want to look like an obsessive fan lol. so, of course a read/article/book on the production in geogaddi would be insane but I guess i can still dream of it as it - probably - won't ever happen.
For me it is "The devil is in the details". That could probably be some disturbing sample origin. I mean, they were able operate arround such themes and take inspiration from them. Dark stuff.

Not trying to raise hopes here, but Warp's major announcements are usually made between 3pm-5pm GMT. I'm not sure where you're situated but we are yet to reach that (magic) window.

If it gets to COB (UK time) and we still haven't heard anything, then I guess we're out of luck.

I agree, we have to refer to UK/central europe time zone but I'm pretty sure nothing is gonna happen today.
