Some Vinyl;

Pink Floyd- The Wall
Zero 7 - Simple Things
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
The Album Leaf - In A Safe Place

I've been buying vinyl for a bit over a year now, it's an expensive hobby but i love it, nearing 80 records now. I need more!

I dread to think what I've spent on records and hi-fi equipment over the years. Discogs tells me the average value of my collection is £45,000 and that's not with everything catalogued. Hobbies are financial black holes.

Still, all good fun and music has never sounded better... which in itself a nightmare as you hear things elsewhere and sometimes cannot stand how shit it sounds.

Help.

Mark Fisher was a great writer. I just picked up Capitalist Realism the other day and damn if it doesn't resonate with me.

Capitalist Realism just perfectly articulated stuff I was thinking about around that time. Ghosts of my Life did as well, it's really worth checking out.
Such a loss, I'd loved to have heard him develop his Acid Communism stuff about the future for the political Left (unfortunately it's looking like his optimism about a Left resurgence was misplaced, but we'll see I guess) and his thoughts about the last few years.

I just bought Jon Hopkins' Immunity, and I'm waiting on a discogs order for Burial's Rival Dealer. In fact, it's taking an awful long time to arrive, but the seller has 100% rating, so I'm still hopeful...

Because who wouldn't want to play around with an old school 70s-style BigMuff Pi of an evening? ;-)

^ nice!

I got one a few years back. Mine's a little different; bulky silver fucker, not sure what the difference is. Lovely sound on it though!

Sounds like you have either an original or Ram's Head? Both are meant to be lovely. This one here is the tone wicker version. The wicker adds a bit more top end if you want it while bypassing the Tone control gives you proper lo-fi muff goodness. Just took mine for a spin and oh me oh my, it's bliss. Soundgarden tones made effortless. An utter beast. Love it.

This has been a really interesting read! It also came with these flimsy transparent vinyl records that still sound good 40+ years later.

The Gentleman Losers - Make We Here Our Camp of Winter

Really discovering discogs now, it's a pretty fun but expensive hobby haha.

Oh lord - I just signed up a few weeks ago to look for something* in particular, just idly browsing.... and now I get a notification whenever a copy becomes available and my fingers twitch despite not currently having a record player set up.

That Death In Vegas remix is not the same as the YouTube link. Their second remix “Dub Together” is a mashup of Prince Jammy v King Tubby & Spiritualized released a few years later on their label Drone. Coincidentally the links posted are from an old YouTube channel of mine ;)
