Some covers

Post by Paul G. Stewart »

Good morning! This will be one of my first posts on here. After getting a loan of a Microkorg a couple of years back, one of the first things I did for fun and to try and learn more about synthesis was start trying to emulate Boards patches.

I used to post videos with phone audio over on the facebook group but decided to make a couple with proper recordings and using hardware instruments and fx, tape etc. over the last year or so. The most recent was 'Dandelion'.

Hope you enjoy!

I've already seen all of them ! They're really good, my favorite is melissa juice, i like the drums in your version better than the original.

So in Scotland you can loan a synthesizer from a shop? Amazing !

Also that Dandelion cover is especially beautiful, nailed the synth sounds. One of my favorite BoC melodies

Whoa Paul, that was an awakening, from someone who is NOT in the field of electronica etc. i think you scorched those covers, I especially liked Dandelion and Ready lets go, which is from My favorite (by far) BOC album. Thank you for this, you brightened My day in so many ways. Thank you! And the colour of fire is so sweet! +1 for the kitty appearance!
Molest me not with this pocket calculator stuff.

hey! my friend's got the same MicroKorg. she's kind enough to let me wail around on it during rehearsals :)

EDIT: and wow! incredible recreation for Dandelion. really great! the un-reversed versions of reversed playing always sound so nice and straightforward, but reversing it just immediately turns it into something otherworldly..

waited to long to come up with this question; i love experimenting with trying to recreate things because i end up uncovering new ideas/techniques in trying to recreate something that i might not have otherwise tried on my own

you finding anything like that in your covering? any cool nuggets of wisdom to share? :D

This is my favorite song on the entire album and you nailed it.
My envy of your studio can only be outmatched by how much I love what you do.
Thanks for this!
