"Uuh" Sample Hunting Thread

At this point it's been basically confirmed that this parody uploaded to youtube by Sheol Boundary was made by BoC or someone directly related to them:


So let's do what we always do and try to figure out everything that was sampled in it! Here's my list so far, any help tracing the origins of the ones I don't recognize would be much appreciated:

the unknown vocals reminds me of Flashback - Imagination lol. If I wasn't so lazy I'd search through bands somewhat similar that BoC sampled (Kool And The Gang, Shalamar, etc.)

It's definitely from Boogie Wonderland, not sure if that's the exact moment since there's a lot of similar ones but in any case well spotted! Also I think they're using an acapella version, which makes me wonder just how many unreleased Hell Interface remixes of Earth Wind And Fire tracks are out there lmao

Yep, just confirmed both of these! The orchestra hit is indeed ORCH2.wav from the Fairlight CMI IIx, and seems like the Bod sample is from right at the beginning before the other instruments join in. Nicely done!

That just leaves the vocal bit before Gangnam Style, not sure where to start with that one since the vocals are garbled to the point where I can't make them out. There's a bit of drums audible towards the end of that segment, maybe those'll be a sufficient enough clue for someone?

Hi all, I know that it is now essentially confirmed, but can I ask is the only basis of that confirmation the Red Moss (not truly Red Moss in my opinion, but the Boards ident before the track that they didn't bother labeling as a separate track on Maxima) sample being much higher quality than anything from any version we currently have access to?

Is there anything else solidifying the claim to authenticity, I am relatively sure it is them and I know this has been discussed to death elsewhere, but other than a coincidental upload date, is there anything further?

It's all about the upload date. It's not 100% proof positive, BUT: Sheol Boundary page and video creation date 30 September 2013. Pioneer /blue hexagon image creation date 30 September 2013 on official Boards-affiliated pages. Sheol Boundary Whitney Houston Profile pic in 2013, used on Hell Interface facebook page in 2021, with colors reverted to normal. Also note that the Hell Interface facebook profile pic is now just a black circle - so if we hadn't been so obsessive we might have even missed the Whitney Houston image connection. It was only visible for at most a couple days.

I mean besides the upload date and the Red Moss ident, we do also have the picture of Whitney Houston, which was used years later on the Hell Interface FB page. That's a pretty solid preponderance of evidence.

The account is much like AtalantaFugiens- not confirmed through any official channels, but generally known by fans to be legit.

But regardless, this is a sample hunting thread and not a discussion of the video's provenance.

That topic is locked, though, so it can't be used as a dedicated discussion to the video or things relating to it and exists more just to clue people in and make sure everyone is updated. In the meantime, I'll stick to General New Release to discuss validity etc.

Could the stereo imaging have been reversed for the whole BoC Maxima tape on the rip we have, by accident? Could the original's L and R channels been reversed? Keep in mind, this has happened before with the original mastering of Hi Scores.

if I remember correctly the AtalantaFugiens account was used during the TH ARG, there was a text hidden in the video: "ONE GOT FAT". that was referring to the EYDIAB fan made video (which led to another clue)
