Blown away that this has surfaced.
In the interests of archiving, I wonder if bocpages could message him to ask for the original .MOV file or whatever it is straight from the SD card, instead of having Twitters reencoded version?

Good Lord, this is so surreal to see. No other way I can put it to words...

Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
Just by chance saw this on twitter today, then immediately came here. Was just talking to my partner the other day too about how crazy it is that there's no footage of them. Completely surreal
Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
Was browsing through the forum and found this - looks like there may have been hint that this would surface in the recording itself!

Must be a tape gathering dust on a shelf somewhere."Antares wrote:Was browsing through the forum and found this - looks like there may have been hint that this would surface in the recording itself!

Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
This just doesn't compute to me. How does one have the werewithal to sneak a proper camcorder into a high security show, especially a Boards show - where they were already known to ban cameras and recording - record the show, and then either shelve, forget about, or record over the tape? I don't think there is an underground underground community sharing ultra-rare bootlegs of Boards shows - if they were out there Twoism would know about it, no?Sherbet Head wrote:

The only thing I can think of is perhaps the recording was so crappy or otherwise he failed to capture anything properly, and so didn't bother to disseminate? OR the tape was confiscated by security later? OR he just never bothered to digitize it? Even if the latter is true, I'd think some copies would have been made and distributed over the years....
Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
Other accounts of the same show mention "security taking discs and film", so it's possible that the dude just got busted later into the set and had to give up his recording. Either that or it was an inside man from Hexagon Sun who was one of the only ones with permission to film the whole thing (but only under the condition that the resulting recording is immediately sealed away in the secret Hexagon Sun underground storage facility afterwards, of course).mthrndr wrote:This just doesn't compute to me. If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

Honestly that's the only thing that makes sense to me - he got caught and had to give up the tape. Just another thing that is stored in Marcus' solar-alarm-protected vault of treasure that no one but the brothers may ever accessJango9 wrote:Other accounts of the same show mention "security taking discs and film", so it's possible that the dude just got busted later into the set and had to give up his recording. Indeed, plus you can hear talk of the security folks putting flashlights in people's eyes on track 7 so there was almost certainly some flashlight sweep that would've caught a large proper film camera before he had time to hide itmthrndr wrote:Honestly that's the only thing that makes sense to me - he got caught and had to give up the tape. Weren't SD cards still kind of a new thing at that point? I was shocked at them when i got a nintendo ds in 2009. Maybe when he got caught he just deleted the internal storage and security didn't know any better?Jango9 wrote:Other accounts of the same show mention "security taking discs and film", so it's possible that the dude just got busted later into the set and had to give up his recording. Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
The smallest option in 2001 would have been most likely a minidisc or mini dv tape camcorder. Any digital device would have held only seconds of video - the guy on twitter said his had a 32 MB card in it and he only recorded what, 18 seconds?
mini tape camcorders or even better (and expensive) minidisc camcorders could have captured the whole show - but of course are more conspicuous.

Maybe he only recorded 18 seconds because he was off his tits.mthrndr wrote:The smallest option in 2001 would have been most likely a minidisc or mini dv tape camcorder. Also that's pretty much all that 32MB could capture back then!Fredd-E wrote:Maybe he only recorded 18 seconds because he was off his tits.mthrndr wrote:The smallest option in 2001 would have been most likely a minidisc or mini dv tape camcorder. Wow. This is very cool!

Anyways, back to BoC live..... it is still a miracle we have this little amount of footage. Hoping for one last show before they turn to bone dust in the desert of the real...

Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
A US/UK tour would be great, at least.
If not, I'd love for them to do a live archive collection that's soundboard quality rips of all their live shows, (i.e. ae_live series)

Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
Yeah that’d be awesome. Seefeel on YouTube recently confirmed one of the shows where BoC opened for them I believe. I chimed in that I would love to see both bands in one night and they stated... “never say never...” so I would be really happy to see these two acts perform again in the same night. It would be cool if one of the next LP’s we get is a soundboard live show. Like Peel Session EP only official live. Like ATP soundboard or even Lighthouse.

Re: Short clip of ATP live footage
I'd say all the unreleased tracks from ATP, Warp10 and Lighthouse could make a pretty formidable LP when combined and sequenced wellSoul_Slip wrote:Yeah that’d be awesome.
