I was talking about music that was out around and before the talk of a "secret weapon". TH is very different timbrewise to anything before, it has a totally different approach and set of instruments I feel. They could have spent some money and grabbed a CS80 for before TH for sure.

After finding the Come to Dust filter sweep on the P5r4 ( I eventually found this video:

The first patch clearly sounds like something from Geogaddi. I've worked on recreating that same patch this morning ( although not as successful the sound is definitely there. I'm increasingly convinced that the secret weapon is indeed a prophet 5.

EDIT: This is clearly the patch from Gyroscope

Sure sounds like it. Tried extracting that sound from the song, plus reversed, pitched up (7 semitones) and tried to make it sound better. Not perfect though but it is what it is.

Sounds like a nice waltzy sailing background music. I'd be grateful if you could re-create it so we can hear it in full. Lots of people aren't aware how nice these backmasked melodies on Geogaddi are. This also reminds me of that live track that later became Cold Earth.

Also what's up with Geogaddi and its sailing/sea/diving themes? Just look at the track titles: Gyroscope, Dandelion, Sunshine Recorder, The Beach at Redpoint, Horizon Radar, Diving Station, Corsair. Plus the original samples/inspirations like the one from Diving Station or Dandelion. Where are we going exactly and what are we doing?

BoC often include elements in their stuff from what I've seen. Aquarius being a water sign, just not on geogaddi :P

Look at tomorrow's Harvest's artwork's themes. (Thats a lot of 's)

TH is Air and Earth/ground. Album cover is sky and ground

Gemini is an Air sign.

White Cyclosa's helicopter at the beginning.

A causeway is generally on the ground.

Cold "Earth"

But it becomes more obvious on the artwork slides. Most picture are seperated Ground/Sky there is a plane a pickup and a truck, cars, roadsigns and a bird. But almost no mention of water.

To come back to geogaddi you're making a great point. The Devil Is In The Detail also has what sounds like running water or it at leasts sounds "liquid"

On a side note it is almost weird, when I see geogaddi's cover It screams fire. but the album is mostly water

Sorry, posted a wrong timestamp there. This is the one:

Another weekly edition of possible samples/inspirations. Here's one that could be related to Old Tunes:

And one more from TH, maybe?

Thought I'd post here.

If anyone can find more with contestants not listed in this pastebin do send me a DM with a video link. Not just the names please, the names are pointless there are so many Cathy/Kathy and we need to check the vids for samples.

Do take note that we need the UK version of Blockbusters hosted by Bob Holness between '83 and '93 on ITV but not excluding '94 and '95 on Sky-1

I think they sampled Doxa Sinistra for one of the unknown ATP tracks (27:50).
The song "Triangular Intermodule Computer Display Screen".

Found a sample in Wildlife Analysis, very end of the Sesame Street Alphaquest theme slowed down by 15.86 semitones:

Now that's a great find! Good work.

Big up to all you people finding stuff from TV shows. That is much more work than when I find stuff because I listen to tons of music and sometimes something familiar comes up and then I investigate.

Made in early 60s. Considering the track name, same chords, bird and radio sounds, Slow This Bird Down maybe? Or is it just a big coincidence?

Not sure if they sampled this one directly, but it does sound like slightly harsher version of Blueberry at several points so they may very well have been inspired by it :P

Damn, yeah, you might be onto something here. The drones around 1:30 in particular sound like it, maybe slowing the whole track down would give some more definitive answers?
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

Definitely sounds like the noises in the ending interlude of the track. No slowing down necessary

It's probably (almost certainly) a coincidence, but this one completely random Japanese electronic/soundtrack release has a theme/sequence that's almost exactly the red moss intro, at least in notes

Turquoise Hexagon Sun

The main key sound in this song sounds like one of the internal waveforms in one of BoC's samplers (probably the S1000). There's a gasping sound and some heavy breathing shortly after the beat comes in that I think may have been sampled from a porno, and the sound of pool balls/billiard balls (or, as Jango9 once said, “the sound of a lobster being thrown against a wall,”). Shortly after that, you can hear a voice saying what sounds to me like “There's been a...” or perhaps even “Husbands are...”

You can also hear the sound of party chatter/giggling slowly fading in.
This isn't exactly a revelation, but I had a go at isolating the speech in Turquoise Hexagon Sun and I'm pretty convinced the "there's been a..." bit is actually "that's been a relief". I took a loop with matching drums/synths for that section, layered it over the original and inverted the phase to (partially) cancel those parts out, then did a bit of EQing.

This is one of my favourite BoC tracks and I've always been really moved by the combination of the melancholy synth part with the indistinct chatting and laughing (plus the pool/snooker ball sounds). It evokes a bittersweet feeling a lot of BoC tracks give me, relating to precious moments in life and the inadequacy of memory or recordings to preserve them. It also sometimes makes me think about overhearing adults as a child.

As usual, BoC proves to have great taste through their sample selections.

The creepy "tightening rope" sound on You Could Feel The Sky Is Actually a fart.

You can clearly hear it here:
