Similarity of Sundown and Track 3 on Warp 10th 1999

Post by tchewnz »

Hi,

Just happened to be listening to the Warp 10th Birthday Party recording, not long after Tomorrow's Harvest.

Track #3 (often mislabeled as Color of Fire) sounds like it could be an early version of Sundown. Could this be the "old track" on TH?

Anyone else hear this too?

I always thought it was an early version of Alpha and Omega

Alpha and Omega is probably my favourite track of theirs. Or at least in my top 3. I've probably listened to it thousands of times, and I can't seem to hear it at all in #3 on Warp 10th.

Interesting what different people hear!

I think the closest they came to releasing it was A Moment of Clarity. I don't particularly hear similarity to any of the other songs mentioned here.

make thousands of tracks over the course of several decades and you'll probably fall into the same general sounds and motifs a couple times.

It maybe is in a similar key? Which they tend to gravitate towards? Not similar, esp given the uncanny Sesame street sample they include - different vibes altogether

The only remotely similar song to this is A Moment Of Clarity. Alpha And Omega? Sundown? Corsair? tf.
