Haha you guys are getting old!!! I’ve personally loved the new Autechre releases, NTS has some of my favorite new tracks. Really liked what I heard from the stream too, definitely more accessible than NTS.

Def old here but loved The Live sets, elseq and NTS. Sign definitely picks up a part of Ae pre these releases though.

Upon second listen, standout tracks for me are si00, Metaz form8, th red a, psin AM and the last track of course. Basically almost the whole album haha. What an incredibly beautiful and organic-sounding composition, they absolutely nailed it!!!

Listening in a dark room with a proper headphone setup, best way to listen to AE. That last track is just... WOW!

This album so fucking rules on vinyl with proper subs. Also very reminiscent of BOC indeed, but also Amber I think. Loving it loving it loving it.

I've only just bought my first Autechre album ever, haha, 25 years late, inspired by this thread.
Tri Repetae - love it....Amber is on the way as well.
I'll get around to this one eventually!

Oh man, stoked on your discovery. Make sure you go for Chiastic slide before anything else. I feel that is the gateway to appreciating their more abstract albums. If you skip too far ahead they can sound inaccessible but Chiastic will ease you in and make it all make sense.

Cheers, thanks for the advice! Meant to take the plunge for years, just never got round to it.

That said, it took me years to really like Chiastic Slide. I still struggle with Confield, Draft 7.30 and Untilted. When Autechre really work for me is when they strike a gorgeous balance between the alien and the human. I wish LP5 would get a vinyl repress...

Anyone else re-listening to this record a lot recently? Such a great Autumn record. Also looking back a few posts, good to see thedisavowed sharing some thoughts, been a long time since I've seen him pop up. I only post occasionally these days too

I swear making fake Autechre tracks isn't hard. All you need to do is record the smell of paint fumes with the cheapest microphone you can find.
