Does Selmasong by Bjork count?
I also like the 2001 Space Odyssey soundtrack.

Almost any soundtrack Tangerine Dream worked on is killer. Particularly Firestarter.

Also, Italian horror movie soundtracks are usually pretty bitchin'. Goblin holds the monopoly in that area. Great band.

The Shining (scary)
Vampyros Lesbos/She Killed in Ecstasy (groovy)
many John Carpenter soundtracks, particularly Christine (haunting) and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (synth weirdness)

Absolutely!! Cold Blooded Old Times is probably my favourite off the actual soundtrack, though there's a ton of good stuff in the movie that isn't on the album.

He is a fascinating person. When he did the Tron soundtrack, he was called "Wendy Carlos". Aparently she had a certain change. Phenomenal, groundbreaking musician.
