The following isn't really speculation, but maybe fodder for future speculation.

For those of you who have siblings, maybe you've already considered this, but sometimes I wonder if after a lifetime of growing up together, and decades of working and creating music and art together, can the long gaps between releases be attributed not just to their level of perfectionism, but also to how Mike and Marcus relate to one another over the years? Typically, as people grow older, even close siblings or lifelong friends go in different directions, hold different views, want different things, ect.

I imagine it can't always be easy to work closely with your brother no matter how deep of a bond they share. And now, as two people reaching middle age, raising families and so forth, perhaps the idea of hunkering down and trying to create something amazing just isn't as necessary or exciting as it used to be. I mean, think of all the time they've spent together since childhood and all the things that have happened up until now. We have no idea what goes on between the two, but we know it's a lot of history and maybe not always good times.

One last thought. Tomorrow's Harvest, which as we've been told is an homage composers who scored sci-fi and horror flicks from the 70's and 80's, is also an album that tells the story of the apocalypse, or the collapse of everything as we know it. When you make that record and put it out, where the fuck do you even go from there? Sometimes I think they painted themselves into a corner. Perhaps this was intentional, done as a means to really force them to think differently on their next project, or maybe that was just what it ended up as. Again, we'll probably never know.

Yeah... So this quote is strange to me. How is TH "everything but apocalyptic"? If that were the case why have a track called "Palace Posy" which is an anagram for "apocalypse"? It didn't take people long to spot that one! I suppose one could make an argument that the anagram is a red herring, meant to deliberately throw people off, but why? Is it a case of semantic interpretation of the word apocalypse? Are they trying to draw a distinction between what people normally mean when they use the word apocalyptic when they're really talking about eschatology, which really sort of go hand in hand? Am I missing something? I guess I'm missing the "longer story", which raises the question of where do we look to find the longer story? Is it within TH, or is it yet to be told?

Ultimately, it leads me back to the idea that we should take everything they say with a grain of salt. But, if people want to go into this and provide an explanation that I obviously can't, please do!

I basically look at it this way. They had a vague idea that something bad was going to happen in the future from the books they read and their lack of faith in humanity with our increasing nihilism and hatred towards our fellow beings, so they made an album that embodied that feeling of dread.

I always feel the title means, "we will reap tomorrow's harvest."

Though I kind of also get the feeling they had no idea what the event would be but that it was going to happen so that's why they acted so vague in the interviews.

I hope we get an interview 13 days from now in Stargate because it would be nice for them to elaborate in retrospect on TH

What can we now that the seeds have been planted? The trinity test can be interpreted as the sowing of a new era. A palindromic nature of life and death, rebirth and more death, but now we have a the means for a MAD ending at the push of a button. Nature has created its own god in us seemingly intended on its own mutually assured destruction. If you look at the planet as a creature she’s been quite masochistic the last couple hundred years.

The album sits on the line of worry with glints of hope. Worry is healthy, keeps you alert and on your toes. Like a monthly tornado test in the Midwest. Those wailing sirens sublimely warning you of our mother earths ability to flip the table, only the sirens could someday be of nuclear origins, and we may not get a 2nd or 3rd chance after that. A pendulum on its own will be stopped by gravity and air resistance eventually.
