Is "Its a whole 'nother year" a song about blue milk and moisture evaporators?

Didn't read the Bocpages actually but that confirms what I thought really. I knew straight away when I read the title a few years back but that is because I was a fairly religious fan of the originals as a kid.

In that setting, luke is working on a moisture farm drinking blue milk hence the earlier comment.

"Have you guys ever hypnotized yourselves with your own music/frequencies?" o.O

I swear sometimes I feel like I get "high" when listening to some of their tracks haha, especially tracks like "Skyliner", "Pete Standing Alone", "Satellite Anthem Icarus", "Amo Bishop Roden"....

I agree. Music is the Drug and the best way to create music is generally through trial and error in terms of what chords, textures and combinations can put one into various trance states. After a while one can differ between different flavors of trances and create sounds accordingly.

Yeah, In my band, we often times hit a "Zenith" point where it feels like the notes "carry/create" themselves and when my drummer and I hit that point, we both can't stop laughing at how good the song feels and sounds. It feels like it hooks us internally and takes us for a ride!

Waste of a question man ;)
No one has that forethought for that, just their warp career spans 20+years.
They might think that they have to do something progressive to their last release but that'll be as far as it goes I reckon. They might have vague ideas of what their future albums might cover, any themes they want to add but it does depend if they are still valid when they get to them. People grow and tastes change. These dudes are as normal as me and you, we flip flop about like someone trying to decide what to eat on a Friday night.

Well the prompt only gave me one question :? . If I was to meet them I'd ask them a bunch of Qs but not be too crazy bout it. Just have a nice chit chat and slip in the occasional interesting questions in there, maybe nerdy technical stuff. But I don't see how it's a waste of a question? I mean what better thing could I ask them? If I was given one question only it wouldn't be about a part of a song, it would be about their career as a whole.

"Do you vote?"

They're kinda nihilists and maybe determinists. I wonder if they even care to vote.

Based on their comments in interviews, the books they've recommended, and some of the other Hexagon Sun members' artistic/academic interests (check out Simon Yuill's website), I strongly suspect they're anarchists of some flavor.

That's not to say they certainly don't vote, many anarchists still do as they think it's worthwhile to make minor changes within the system at the same time they attack it from without, but it does make it less likely. However, anarchists that abstain from voting don't do so because they're nihilistic, but rather because they view participation in a system they fundamentally disagree with as wrong.

if you could only choose one track that you created together, which would you both choose and what are the memories/themes/personal narratives involved? - from both of your perspectives and experiences(if any)?

Wow, it's bizarre seeing one of my old threads alive after all these years! Nowadays I almost certainly wouldn't use up my one question on the one I gave in the OP (especially since the answer could very easily just be a simple "No."). Instead, it'd probably be something more along the lines of "What exactly are those remaining unidentified tracks on the Societas X Tape?" lmao
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

I've been thinking about this thread over the last few weeks, so I'm just going to rattle off a few questions that I've had in my head.

Couldn't boil it down to one, so I'm forgoing that theme since I doubt they'll ever answer anyways. Although, having said that I'd be content with a response from @mdg , since I figure he/she/they would likely be able to shed some light on these as well.

Here I go:

 5D/6A  Seven Forty Seven. I know the first two aren't the official names for whatever this track started as, but how long does the average track gestate before it ends up on an album, and is 20 years the average?

 What made you move away from EPs after Trans Canada Highway?

 Will the films made under Hexagon Sun ever be shown to the public?

 In making Tomorrows Harvest, it was mention that you recorded three albums worth of content before you settled on what would end up on the final album.
It seems like this process is a natural part in how you make music, but in this case, was the concept for this album solidified from the start of these sessions, or was that something that became clearer later?

 How long did it take you to put Societas x Tape together?

 Whats usually the deciding factor in doing something under Hell Interface as opposed to Boards Of Canada?

 What are you currently listening to?

Thank you for your music and your time 8)

In order:
1. What is the largest area of a shape that can be maneuvered through a unit-width L-shaped corridor?
2. Why are you leaving?
3. Where are Mike and Marcus?

"What are your thoughts on these bands/artists that have tried (or still try) to sound like you? Does it bother you?"

In fact, ONE question is too fucking limiting, I would just like to have a chat with them, like one hour or something.
