for me, it makes me picture a playground with a bunch of kids on a sunny day with a tall man in a trench coat watching from a distance

Makes me feel the same way I feel when I hear an ice cream truck in the distance.

It gives you the urge to eat a Cornetto with a '99 Flake? :?

I just looked at the Bocpages entry for this tune for the first time. I wasn't aware of the Iluminatus Trilogy connection....

The 'Friendly Stranger' is mentioned, as the name of a bar, in "The Illuminatus! Trilogy". It's in the chapter entitled "the second trip, or chokmah":

Makes me think of 70s TV, UK public information films - along the lines of “Charlie says don’t play with matches” and the kids that decide to climb an electricity pylon to retrieve their frisbee

Forestry, and the feeling of being watched.
