Hi guys, haven't been online here in a while but still listen to BoC all the time and daydream about them releasing new music. I just released a new record and registered my songs with BMI, which lead me to investigate the way a lot of my favorite artists have registered/published their music. Fast forward to me coming on here and seeing that MDG potentially confirmed that the brothers are working on new music and seeing people speculate about the BoCset-- I decided to search for the band in the BMI repertoire. Turns out that tons of the Old Tunes tracks are registered!! Was pretty surprised to see songs like 5.9.78 and She Is P, etc.
Check it out for yourself: https://repertoire.bmi.com/Search/Catal ... umber=True
Thoughts?
Let me know if this is a double post or if this feels insignificant. Just wanted to contribute something!!
Cheers.

Re: BoCset info on BMI Repertoire?
Hate to be a downer but these tracks have already been registered for years, and the ASCAP repertory has even more.
I guess it's more of a precautionary measure if anyone were to commercially use something from the Old Tunes tapes.

Anyone including BoC themselves of course.Sherbet Head wrote:I guess it's more of a precautionary measure if anyone were to commercially use something from the Old Tunes tapes.

About the track registered to Boards of Canada called "Please Tell Me Why" on the CMRRA:
I suppose it's just co-incidence that there's a track called "Please Tell Me Why" by a 60s US garage called "Boards".
And even more strange co-incidence that it's incorrectly credited to Boards of Canada on this Amazon listing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fort-Worth-Sce ... B0002A754W (track 10)
Could it be that the CMRRA somehow accidentally picked up the artist for "Please Tell Me Why" as Boards of Canada, instead of Boards, and it's not really a BoC registration at all?
