Do you have a better way of ripping this? Lots of noise. The 5.9.78 skip is in a slightly different place, and I'd like to hear it more clearly.

a real Boards fan only rips in 36kbps through a phone speaker in the tundra

(as much as I love shoegaze: a less-noisy rip would be super duper appreciated. and maybe cassette pics, although that's asking for a lot)

sounds like the tape is in decent nick, but the noise correlating with the volume makes it seem like some piece of analogue gear in the signal chain was clipping. it's giving saturation

You mean you own the recording of the cassette or you own the cassette?

The RIP for OTV 2 is coming late this week. We got a guy from Florida in our discord server who sent it to a pro shop to get it ripped.

From J-card analysis we're about 90% sure it's real.

Still waiting on someone to rip Acid Memories, Closes, Catalog 3, Play By Numbers and Hooper Bay. If they exist!

Perhaps that's the album that's one the way

Good luck with that, whoever ends up doing the ripping for one of those is doing so at the price of their own kneecaps :P
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

At this point I doubt it even more. a few AFOT leaks throughout the years and not a single recording of the mentioned above? No, I won't argue about the PBN "snippet"

The snippets are definitely real, they were on the earliest version of the official BoC website:

I don’t think BoC or anyone else will be upset when those records are finally found and shared… but I’m happy to contribute to kneecap replacement surgery fund for the hero that delivers them to us if necessary.

They get angry about BOC Maxima, and the Old Tunes doing rounds, so I could only imagine the fury of scorned BOC with those tapes.

Funny though, I looked up the song titles of the lost EPs on a copyright database and nothing was on there. Either they didn't copyright them like the Old Tunes stuff because they aren't leaked or they don't exist. Interesting though they aren't too worried about copyrighting them in case.

This is oddly specific. When you say that, I vividly picture Robin Williams yelling it to wake up the troops in Good Morning, Vietnam. Sounds exactly like something he'd come up with.

Also something to note: I really like this mix of A Few Old Tunes.
I'm no BoC sound quality aficionado, certainly inexperienced with all the high ends, bass de-mastering and other production whatchamacallits, still, this is sounding fantastic to these ears!
I think the muddy noise is adding something extra to be honest. It feels like I'm listening to boards (this tape specifically) with a fresh perspective. Giving it cracking praise from my neck of the woods!
