Beautiful job, especially on the drums. U really nailed it. It does sound a bit empty though, just because of the isolated pads being a bit too thin.

Love what you did with the voice chops and drums, I started a remake myself awhile back and managed to recreate the two main pads but had so much trouble with everything else. How much of this is recreated vs. isolating and cleaning up the original recording?

I love how intricate it becomes near the end, with all the crowd noise and reverb etc in the live version its amazing how much audio distraction there is.
So spill the beans, did you use AI to remove the crowd noise?

i did! i used lalal ai to isolate every stem in the song and puzzled everything together using the cleanest stems possible

Fantastic job and great thinking
I would try myself but I'm limited to my phone which makes tasks like this pretty arduous
If you are planning on doing more, Can I request ATP track 7?

Re: boards of canada - spiro (cleaned)
Great! That would be very interesting to hear. The crowd noise and reverb in Spiro was so overwhelming, I'm thoroughly impressed by the results you got. I can only imagine track 7 will get great results with this method also since the crowd noise and reverb aren't so bad on that recording.
As a side note it would be interesting to hear the difference between the soundboard version of Julie and Candy and an AI cleaned version, just to compare the end results

Interesting.
It would the good to hear the residual. The remaining stems that were removed. Crowd sound sure, but how much of the music?

Listen to the detail that's been extracted, I never even heard the timpani drums before, never mind half of the zappy sounds and whatnot.
I really doubt there is anything left out besides just a metric fuck tonne of reverb and girls talking about their mums living room! Lol

Amazing job. Spiro has always been the live track I've most wanted to hear in studio quality and you've gotten us I think as close as we're going to get. It sounds great.
Re: boards of canada - spiro (cleaned)
How did you do the drums? I used the Demucs AI to do the same thing a few years back and couldn't get the drums sounding anywhere near as good as yours. Did you use some of your own sounds?pingis6 wrote:i did! i used lalal ai to isolate every stem in the song and puzzled everything together using the cleanest stems possible

Re: boards of canada - spiro (cleaned)
Impressive work pingis6! Did you have to do a bit of layering with drum hit samples that sounded close enough to the original drums on the perc stems to make those sound as punchy as they do?
