Looks like a new lathe cut to me. This is where we are with BoC, people spending €100 getting a one off record cut for one day of Internet laughs.

I've got to say, the cover photo does look pretty HQ compared to anything online. Though obviously, AI exists.
Also I'm a bit wary that he only posted the front cover.

I feel like if you’re gonna put that much effort into a fake, you should really aim higher than some bs about “I don’t know if I can hold my camcorder up that long” and such low quality video and stills.

But add me to the list who *wants* to believe. The truth, and the real vinyl, is out there… somewhere.

I mean, if this is a fake, and that definitely is not unlikely, this is pretty well done. Whoever is pulling the strings really knows how to do a middle-aged Scottish bloke impression. But really, does James not have a mobile phone? I can't imagine resorting to a camcorder for any reason.

Except that it fits the BOC aesthetic. That actually is the most suspicious bit to me.

The time spent on this one could've gone into something actually productive!

If this dude ends up listing it for sale at some crazy price, I hope MDG or someone would pop their head up and call it out as bogus before someone rewards a hoax with a pile of cash.

Really? Reads to me like they have no idea if or when they will ever produce new music.
They are the record company so they know. Especially since MDG confirmed a new album last year. I think this is more a sly tease to get us hyped
Exactly. In my mind, if they know there is something coming reasonably soon they are more likely to say nothing. If they have no idea and they have - like many of us - more or less given up waiting they are more likely to include what reads to me like a sarcastic comment.

Warp are not Berry Gordy. And MDG has said a lot of things over the years...

I truly do wonder what BoC thinks of this kind of thing happening in the community constantly

Agree, Seward Leaf very interesting track, psychedelic (reminds me of Selected ambient works II)

So what are your opinions on the music itself, fake/legit?

In my personal opinion, I think sounds legit, many things to take in consideration. But man some tracks have a very interesting atmosphere. That's probably could be.

If it is indeed fake, sound very genuine, high quality electronic music in my opinion, but is it really sound like BOC lost material

Exactly, we don't have an solid point of reference in the Early work, but I have high hope.

Yeah, Geiser sounds like something Tim Hecker would release, but then that beat comes in, wow

Nah, not legit. It's clearly a brand new lathe cut 12" with an AI enhanced picture sleeve, not a legit vinyl pressing from 1994. If it was legit, the centre label would have Music70 on it.

However it doesn't really matter - if you want it to be real, it's real. I don't think the Boards ever pressed Hooper Bay to vinyl but they'll never admit that publicly so it's as real as any of their supposed back catalogue.
