RIP Andy Rourke
When I first heard the Smiths, it was the bass lines that first stood out for me, even before Morrissey's singing or lyrics, or Marr's guitar. Such a key part of their sound, every bit as much as Peter Hook's was for Joy Division and New Order.

Regardless of what people think about Morrissey nowadays, the Smiths were so much more than him so I am happy Rourke gets a tribute here. I am sad we never got a reunion album but they never put out a single bad album and that's quite a feat. (Four stellar albums sounds a lot like our boys don't it?)

Why would anyone care what somebody else thinks of Morrissey or anyone for that matter? Andy Rourke was a great bassist however and a phenomenon such as the Smiths would be unimaginable today.
