NFBOC Still Images Identification

Has anyone gone looking for the sources of some of these NFBOC images that BOC have used on their Facebook pages? Specifically some of the ones below really strike my fancy and I would love to know more about their origins.

I haven't, But I had that first dragon picture as my desktop background for years, It's absolutely magical and to me it fits in the old tunes vibes perfectly.. Don't ask me why I've no idea!

I forgot to mention this in my comment, but what's interesting is that the footage leading up to the clip is different than what statpow uploaded to his channel, and also the fact that the script from the narration is the same.

I managed to identify most of the NFB ones a while ago by scraping all the images in the NFB catalog and using an image duplication checking utility. I haven't got round to documenting them all on bocpages yet, however a user on TMW has collated them all into a spreadsheet with links to available streams:

The second and fourth images are original works by the band, I believe.

The third image was titled "boc_beautifulthaw.jpg", presumably it's a still from their "In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country" music video. I've managed to source the background footage as from "The Restless Year". The white silhouette is superimposed from the "Casualties" segment of "Protect & Survive".

Just checked, and yes, the first is definitely an original work by Hexagon Sun.
It's titled "Here come the Cold War jets":


Don't know about the second but I can only imagine it's original too given how similar it is.

This pic is of the Telstars Australian aerobatic team flying De Havilland Vampires



But I think the planes are these, British Royal Navy De Havilland Vixens



They could also be Fairchild C-119s



There are a lot of these types of twin boom aircraft though
