Trans Canada Highway after Geogaddi
I wonder if Trans Canada Highway is what The Campfire Headphase was going to sound like originally, but BoC decided to pivot the sound due to the reactions to Geogaddi and the abundance of sound-alike fakes. (ie. kids voices and warbly synths)
Take into consideration Seven Forty Seven, which shares the same style as Trans Canada Highway and, according to BoC's twitter, was created in 2003. I think if you swap the release order of the TCHs, and add in 747, the progression of sound makes more sense.
ABPOITC acted as a perfect transition from MHTRTC to Geogaddi, but going from Geogaddi directly into The Campfire Headphase is kind of jarring. If you slip Trans Canada Highway in between, I think it adds an extra layer to the story and a smoother transition.
One could also argue that the original 06/06/06 release date is a nod to that.

Bit of headcanon on my part but ppl have said time and time again that they want outtakes of albums. EPs are a good medium to that imo
Twoism = MHTRTC
IABPOITC = Geogaddi
Trans Canada Highway = The Campfire Headphase
none so far for Tomorrow's Harvest

I mean you could fit the whole into TCH and not sacrifice tone or even vinyl space:

^ Placing anything after Farewell Fire is a punishable offence.
Re: Trans Canada Highway after Geogaddi
Aye, the only changes I'd make are putting Constants Are Changing at the beginning of Side D and moving Heard From Telegraph Lines to the spot that it previously occupied. Apart from that it's quite a nice megamix, think I'll make a playlist of the two albums mixed together like this! At one point I did something similar with Butthole Surfers' "Weird Revolution" and the unreleased tracks from "After The Astronaut", the results are as follows:Sherbet Head wrote:^ Placing anything after Farewell Fire is a punishable offence.

If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

I think that is goes without saying that things rarely happens at random when it comes to our Boc-boys.
I have the same idea being true as the experience in my life.
The reason why I'm here now writing this post is because yesterday I had I had a "moment of Clarity" I guess and get a thought that the elusive title "Geogaddi" stands for something like "You god eye" or "You God, I..." said with a drunken slur and then immediately afterwards I got a thought into my mind that felt like I should write here that I did't really think it myself, I know this sounds strange but to me it felt like my own thought.
Not really sure what to make of this.
Another interesting thing to mention here is perhaps that there is quite a particular story related to religion about my username "chzi" and how I started using it as my music producer alias. Any one here who can figure out the meaning of "chzi"..?
And add... what do you think of Geogaddi? For me it's my all time favourite album all genres and times considered. A true masterpiece, a Magnum Opus. No further comment needed from me regarding this I guess.
I got another thought like that just now telling me that "You shall not take credit for the work of others".
And then I noticed that The Random Sound sub section had 6666 threads now. I took a screen shot of it that I put here: http://www.christianseance.com/6666.png
I'm a bit lost for words right now.
Later today I'll try to think about how TCH fits in.

By the way, can you open and read this thread I opened yesterday about this. I'm a bit perplexed that no one has replied there yet:

I also did something like this with NIN's EP trilogy (Not The Actual Events/Add Violence/Bad Witch)Jango9 wrote:At one point I did something similar with Butthole Surfers' "Weird Revolution" and the unreleased tracks from "After The Astronaut", the results are as follows:

Re: Trans Canada Highway after Geogaddi
I was an avid reader of the Channel 4 music forum called the Void - part of the Planet Sound teletext pages and I remember contributors commenting on the run time of Geogaddi. One contributor wasn't impressed at all. At the time I was so enamoured with guitar music though I didn't give BoC much thought.
