Christ. asking about whether he should work with Sam Hyde...
Anyone else get the message from Chris on Bandcamp asking his fans if he should accept the offer of working with Sam Hyde on a project? It has opened up an interesting discussion, with most people advising he doesn't touch him with a barge pole.
He is obviously a very polarising character and a huge BOC fan so I thought it would be interesting to open the discussion up here, here's an example of him using BOC tunes on his work in the past...

Yeah I wouldn't want to work with an alleged rapist and hate stalker that has swatted and harrassed tons and tons of people. I don't think that kind of association would look so good..

That's what he was replying to, christ's decline of the offer. Statpow LURVES Sam Hyde, unfortunately.

2016 was a failed abortion of a year and anyone who says otherwise is questionable at best.
P.S. Pull my finger

Talk is cheap.
Everything unveiling now in real time. Let’s see in 20 years. Crime infested America, or UK for that matter, is not the place you wanna be.
Look for the exit plan

Let me be clear here. I am fully aware of that and that is the main focus of my grievances. He should've worked with Sam.
He speaks of "not being a sell out" Instead he sold himself out to a political narrative and rather than investigating himself on who Sam is he asked other people's opinions.
He decided not to go with something risky morally and politically and that to me is selling out. Selling out your integrity as an artist for fear of someone's character and morals rather than the project itself which by the way is very great comedy if you're not emotionally and intellectually stunted!

This sounds like pure copium. You're insisting it's political where there's no indication of that. That's projection. Are you saying that all artists should capitulate with "risky" people? Would you say the same about Christ. working with Kanye? Or would you not want that to happen? Just using Ye as an example.
Also let's not blur the lines here, Sam Hyde is undeniably not a good person. It's not some nebulous unknown thing. You can clearly follow his own activity and cross that with what others say about their personal experiences with him and it's very obvious.

Cool. I had never heard of the Hyde guy until I saw that message from Christ. on Bandcamp. Doesn’t sound like my kind of person to me, but I know very little about him, and will probably keep it that way.

I've enjoyed much of Sam Hyde's work (his Ted talk for instance is a genius bit of Kaufman-esque anti comedy), and I love how he's on a mission to expose and irritate fake virtue signallers, but what do you make of the accusation on the Bandcamp thread that he donated $5K to a cause created by a literal Neo Nazi from Stormfront? Is that true or more narrative twisting?

I never said he was a great guy, what he does I don't care one bit I like him for the content he puts out and the enjoyment that brings me. Maybe I should've put more emphasis on the part "for fear of someone's character and morals rather than the project itself". Which is failure to participate in something rather than someone.
I would not have been this mad at all had Christ just put out a statement he did not wish to work with Sam, rather than just ask his fanbase for their opinion which only really coerce the loud minority to respond instantly with vitriol (wether true or false) instead of the silent majority.. whom would have actually appreciated seeing his work on the show which has been known to have great taste in music all throughout season one.
That very thing is what is at the heart of cancel culture and I find it disappointing when artists support that type of thing.
