I would not have been this mad at all had Christ just put out a statement he did not wish to work with Sam, rather than just ask his fanbase for their opinion which only really coerce the loud minority to respond instantly with vitriol (wether true or false) instead of the silent majority.. whom would have actually appreciated seeing his work on the show which has been known to have great taste in music all throughout season one.
That very thing is what is at the heart of cancel culture and I find it disappointing when artists support that type of thing.

I have a question for you all.
I've been offered a gig by sam hyde of million dollar extreme fame. He's been trying to get me to the USA to film a slot for his world peace show for a while.
He has offered to come to London to film as I'm not allowed into the usa.
I was pretty unaware of his existence before he first contacted me, but as I understand it, he presents a pretty controversial image of himself.
So I investigated. Turns out either he is a pin sharp parody of the alt right, incel, white supremacist types, he satirises them well and he's quite funny, Or it's not satire, he's kind of a racist(amongst other things) and he's not really very funny at all.
I've read a few of his public statements which seem quite considered if a little unpalatable to a lot of modern inclusive types, but his earlier public posts would seem to suggest less consideration, and a degree of vitriol towards minorities that I'm not that comfortable with.
He's wrapped in so many layers of dark irony and satire that I just can't figure out if his public persona is for real or not.
Additionally, I'm not very comfortable with the swathes of alt right followers.
In any case, my political views are relatively inclusive.
What I want to ask is;
1. Is he for real? 2. Should I do the gig? I've been wrestling with this for a couple of years.

Yeah I hate to throw people off, but I told him to go for it. Sam, from my experience, went through the sort of anarchic vector many artists have, but with the added amplification/distortion of the internet. However, recently he has had a few moments I have seen that show strong, long-term love of art and self-reflective bits.
I think, given Christ.'s kinda...bitter persona towards his music via his newsletter in the last 10 years (as a product, the industry, etc), it would have been an interesting opportunity.
This all though is going to fall along lines of ever-degrading political "realities" (which...let's just say have generational levels of trust via familiarity). But I think his idea of say, wearing a shirt saying "I DON'T SUPPORT SAM HYDE" would have been just fine.
