Assuming any of this will be subpar is ludicrous.
Yeah, I am looking at you, Fredd-E.
I'm going to take a break, clearly my input will continue to be ridiculed by all sorts of ad hominem attacks and snidely remarks.
And if it's your right to speak of some of their unreleased music as potentially subpar, it's our right to defend that. That's a discussion. And I've given my reasons above. I'll do it again. They've been curating this bocset allegedly for decades. What would make anyone think they would put out subpar music on it? I'd say they rather put out no bocset than put out one with music not in line with their standards. Besides: I guess they have plenty of B sides from their LPs that would blow our mind. I think they could definitely compile a previously unheard not-subpar compilation. *ugh*

Re: Is Warp Testing the waters with SAW II?
Going by that last remix they put out. If that's the route they go down then it will be an absolute disaster for them. I don't know why they agreed to put that out? It's bloody awful. But Im very much of the opinion that you'll never hear a peep from BoC again whilst they live. You may get to hear something posthumously. They did indicate giving their kids a bunch of tracks.
It would serve the correct purpose of education of the next generations too :-
All of their records seem to go deep into mans place in nature and promote a vision of harmony or show us a nightmare alternative.
Tomorrow's Harvest being their final artistic statement.
Then silence... Then Covid -19, then mass vaccination rollout, then wars, then bird flu, then WW3, then collapse, then solar flares, then the realisation of what the vaccines have done to us. Then just as we crawl back from the brink of our own annihilation and reposition populations around the world, give it a generations time and there will be a HUGE interest on what humanity was up to just before the SHTF. Tomorrow's Harvest will no longer be a musical apocalypse. It will be a prophecy. Then the world can come finally come together with its one world community and worship Satan together and cast out the damage than the carpenter has done.

How do you explain the following?
- MDG's June 2022 quote: "a new album is on its way"
- Their official August 2023 Threads post: "follow us here for news and future announcements"
2)
That's a 2013 quote related to the bocset. Not related to new music.
We have no reason to doubt MDG when he says a new album is coming. Why would he lie to us? Prior to Tomorrow's Harvest he informed us too, and yes it took some time, but it arrived, and on top of that he made it so that this forum was part of the marketing campaign by having the mods change our banner to a banner boc/warp modified, all part of the bigger puzzle.A couple of years ago we decided to start collating and cataloging all our early recordings, just for ourselves really, to know that we could tidy it all up and hand it on to our kids someday, but there are literally thousands of tracks going way back into the ’80s. It’s a huge task, and this just seemed to eat up time.
Again I see zero reason why MDG's June 2022 message is false. And besides: 2024 is not over yet!

Genuine question: do you believe all music is either good or bad? Or could it be you either like it or don't like it?J.Jardine wrote:Going by that last remix they put out. Unreleased/not used doesn't necessarily equate to being not good enough. They may be loose tracks that have no sonic or contextual link to a larger body of work or a specific theme. We know how precious Boards are when it comes to cohesion.Magrathea wrote:Subpar, yes, unreleased, not used, not reworked or reworked and still not working to what they deem ok to release, I would bunch that in the general bin of "not ready for prime time" or as others call it, subpar.
Don't forget that Seven Forty Seven was 'unreleased' for a long time, until Warp gave them an opportunity to put it out. Hardly a subpar track, and just think of how many more of those there are.
Exactly.NTFMTS wrote:But if we are making assumptions: If it's curated material and they have been holding on to it, surely it will be interesting, no? No one is forced to buy the hypothetical bocset. Imo if they did release it, I would certainly be interested in it. That's an opinion, I'm not forcing anyone else to buy it. I feel like that's what Sherbet Head was trying to express.

I'm a huge fan of BoC. But I personally think they're through and I've explained why. I could be wrong. After all? What the hell do I know? But it would be pretty funny to tell everyone that a new album is coming a lot sooner than the wait between Campfire and Tomorrow's Harvest. Then let the fans wait 11 years and nothing. Then just disappear off the face of the Earth. That sort of mysticism is their style totally. Perhaps they're making music elsewhere though? I'm pretty certain they are.

Absolutely, a perfect capitalization on his past few months (or that was Ken & Friends present The Pop Out, depending on which hip-hop fan you ask). The video really stuck the balance of being fun and playful, subliminal, and with underlying scathe all at the same time. Bringing people together.zeoevil wrote:Great video. Great song. Anywayssssss, back to the boring stuff.
Re: Is Warp Testing the waters with SAW II?
I think the American Gothic-esque family portrait with Whitney juxtaposed against Drake's Family Matters song was my favorite part.

Ken is an unbridled, unrivaled genius. Awesome reference Orbited, and such a killer music vid to sprinkle over the awesomeness that already was the tune when it first came out.

BoC fans not dumb.
Shape the stories how you want, hey, Warp, we're not slow.

You and a couple of other people in this thread were very wrong indeed, lol.
Re: Is Warp Testing the waters with SAW II?
I am still interested in the fact that this era has consistently shown 7 hexagons but we are only on album 5. So, I still maintain my thesis. But, yes, a lot of people have been proven wrong by their return with NEW music lol.
