What is Reality to you?

I have no idea what reality is, but consider this - past is thought, and thought is an operation of memory, which is stored in the brain. That means neither thought, or past are objectively real, as they are all a projection our brain is conditioned to have since ancient times. That also means future is just a projection of the past, into the present, and saying "yes, that is the future".

Again, its not something that is real, its just something to consider as a exercise for our default perception, that time is real, thought is real, and our projections of ourselves and the world around us are real. I question all of that - cant say it made me happy, or free of sorrow. It just made me think outside of the box.

This is a big topic. Reality can be described as a meta-concept, a higher level abstraction encompassing other concepts. This includes the concept of future realities. We can’t directly access these potential realities but we know some of them will manifest and some of them won’t. We can try to predict them and if we are right, somehow, either by luck or by foresight, we have brought a part of the future into the present. That might be one reason why gambling feels so addictive.

I always felt that any possible outcome of a situation is fulfilled in an infinite number of alternative timelines, that all flow in and out of themselves, occupying the same space, and interacting with eachother through invisible threads that binds them together. I've had this feeling even before I learned about quantum mechanics. In my view, the virtual particles that QFT speaks about, are actually those other realities interacting with eachother.

Going further into this, it has dawned upon me one day, that if some of these theories are correct, and for instance the energy of vacuum is infinite, and the universe dies from heat death, and every single particle has disappeared, all that is left is vacuum, and quantum fluctuations, so there is no time, and since there is no time, there is also no space, as time is related to space, cause you cant measure distance without objects, neither can you measure time. And so at this "moment" a universe is born out of a singularity. This happens all the time, if you consider that it has already happened, and it will happen again.

Im not sure how close this is to what is the actual picture of reality, i've seen there have been similar thories, but im not competent enough to study the math behind all this. Its just my intuition.

Reality is what exists independent of human beings, but also includes human beings. Reality has no dependence on our own perception, but includes the fact that we have a perception.

What a way to start! But we may be facing the end (let us be realistic now). If there are no green aliens out there then that would mean the end of consciousness itself (what a shame).
