The track that hooked me was Oirectine. However, Pete Standing Alone is amazing.joshkowski wrote:Wow this is so strange to me. Every BOCer i've met in my life have honestly said this song is the one that hooked them. For me personally...this is one of the tracks I've never particularlly liked at all. Maybe i should be listening closer here...because shit. I personaly thought it was one of the weakest tracks on the album.

I would have to say Beware The Friendly Stranger was the track that made me aware of Boards of Canada. I first heard when I watched Salad Fingers. Thank you David Firth. Actually my first involvement with BoC was "Over The Horizon Radar" (Such a nice tune) After that I heard a couple of songs on this documentary where Billy Connolly go's to Africa.
I'm suprises nobody's mentioned this yet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sa ... _of_Canada
Whether or not half of this is true or not is a different matter. It's still an interesting read.

Oh sorry. I thought it was to good to miss. Nice one Fredd-E. Thanks for more brilliant information on the Boards of Canada.mechanismj wrote:I believe that is part of Fredd-E's wiki on BOC. I think a lot of us both knew about it and had input on a lot of it. If I recall there was a "samples used by BOC" thread somewhere.

Hi all. first post.

Maybe you already know about this website... it's an archive of 70s Canadian nature board films that seem to be, as far as I can tell, copyright free. I do know I've sampled them shitless in my shameless BoC ripoff tracks

I have been looking for audio clips from the link above, but I can only seem find video clips. Even though it says both video and audio clips. Can anyone help me with this problem?Kaini Industries wrote:A well done for your first post. Thanks for the link very interesting...Infinite E wrote:Hi all. first post.

There are audio clips, but as far as I can tell the audio only extends to samples of the noise each animal featured in the films makes.
