R35TT Guitars Aren't In Standard 440Hz Pitch

Thanks to Matt's cover i found out that the guitar tracks in R35TT aren't in standard 440Hz pitch.

I've made a version of B04 with the standard pitch as an example:

They are known for detuning their instruments, However I will listen to this and see how it sounds

Had a quick look, indeed a07, a10, b04 and b14 are all about quarter tone off from whole tones. Some other ones as well. They probably just tune by ear.

Also, the tunings are:
A07: ???Hz
A10: 447Hz
B04: 447Hz
B14: 452Hz

Either A10 and B04 were made in the same recording sessions, or the bootlegger recorded the tracks wrong.

The correctly tuned version is more pleasing to my ears, Either they just didn't bother tuning, Tuned by ear or the tape machines aren't speed adjusted properly.. Who knows but well spotted

7Hz isn't much so my guess is that it's detune from the cassette recorder

A lot of their music is not in a typical a440 configuration, i found this out when remixing a couple of their tracks

i'm fairly certain the detuned guitars on most of r35tt are down to the rip being slightly fast. not sure by how much exactly but it's definitely slightly sped up.

It also is likely due to how they use tape a lot on their recordings. That's going to detune stuff

then B04-B14 difference would make no sense
furthermore, for the detuning to go from 440 all the way to 452 hertz you would have the audio to be sped up by slightly bit less than 3%, which was determined not to be the case by sdoww who compared the speeds with other sources; here they are:

R35TT - Side A: 1,716 too fast
R35TT - Side B: 0,938 too fast

Yes this. That would still account for the detune variation. Also intentionally using tape's ability to be unreliable would cause this.
