The Beta Band deserve a thread

Thanks for the headsup, mexi! Coincidentally just started relistening to those beta band records just the other day. This sounds amazing.

As for why they didnt make it big, long story short it's the classic case of bad management and promotion.

Responding to an old quote, I think I remember steve saying in an interview that there were attacks from the industry trying to keep them small. A lot of really odd coincidences surrounding their releases.

Just by being around them, Nick McCabe mixed a track on the 3 Ep's, I think they picked up on some of the Verve's chaotic nature..

Got to see the Beta Band live once in Edinburgh also seen Steve live supporting his first solo release.

I remember first hearing their music during numerous episodes of "Trigger Happy TV". Hilarious show by the way. Good memories

I saw them live in 2004. It was the only concert I've ever been to and I was only there because Morrissey was headlining the event. I wasn't previously a fan but the Beta Band were superb.
