Gad dayuum,
Convince me that personman isn't an intern at Hexagon Sun who's about to get fired for breaching contract.

This isn't a sample, but does anyone else speculate that "You Could Feel the Sky" is actually an evolution of "Finity"?
P.S. Pull my finger

New find for Alpha and Omega
The buried vocals that come in at 5:10 come from footage of the Heaven's Gate cult members describing their feelings before their mass suicide
Here's a stereo comparison:

The full quote used is "I just want to let everyone know how... lucky and happy I feel to be here, and... but you know that, what we're about to do is certainly nothing to... think negatively about. We're all choosing of our own free will, to go to the next level with Ti and Do. And they're certainly not what the media's gonna paint them out to be."

Anyone else ever thought the flute sample in Opening The Mouth is this bit of Land Down Under by Men At Work, EQ'd, stretched and delayed?

Alpha and Omega is so unique in it's soundscape, It's got it all, The beat, The recorder, The samples and the synths..
I wouldn't say this track is the epitome of the BoC sound, But it has the complete array of sonic BoC ear food all in one tidy package.. Not to mention you have the choice of 33 or 45 rpm. Superb.

Could you please reupload the two audio comparisons?personman wrote:Found something really cool about the beginning of Come to Dust:
The resonant synth in the intro is in mono, so you can invert the phase of one of the channels and mix them to isolate what's behind the synth

I noticed that in the spectrum this weird sound has a really sharp cutoff around 4khz, and thought, hey, this looks like a sample that's been slowed quite a bit. If you speed this up around 16st and reverse it, you get this:

I recognized it immediately, it's sampled from the famous choral piece Miserere, mei deus
The above vid isn't the exact version they sampled, and since there are so many versions of this piece which all sound similar then it might be impossible to know for certain which one they used. Still really cool to see this song referenced/used by the band, seems on brand for them in a way
I wait, tense... then disappointed

Found the sample used in Sherbet Head. It's from the movie Chronopolis (1982). The sample starts at about 16 minutes in.

This is just the movie with a custom soundtrack with more modern music.D-joe wrote:Found the sample used in Sherbet Head. It's from the movie Chronopolis (1982). The sample starts at about 16 minutes in.

To The Wind main vocal sample
Here's the sampled bit sped up to match its speed in To The Wind (about +7 semitones):
