I noticed that too, but it appears to be normal under the Error 403 display.

NGINX is a web server, but commonly used as a reverse proxy. It can be scaled efficiently as a web server as well as a reverse proxy.

Pulled from the web through search engine retrieval.

Someone is fucking around with the server(s) in a rather amateurish way, you are not supposed to expose a live server with such dysfunctional configuration.I doubt it is trolling. "Never attribute to malice (or intent) that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

That escalated quickly.
I noticed it went from HTTP 522 -> HTTP 403 -> Failed to connect to web server -> Error 900 -> HTTP 403.
All this in the last 8 hours.
Any web-heads out there know what this means?
403: The server's config can be set to prohibit access to certain files, directories, or areas of the website.
522: origin host unreachable (server unplugged)
900: failed to connect to web server

Or someone is deliberately doing this because they know BoC fans are quick to discover it.

It would take a special kind of sociopath to troll BoC fans without making more of a spectacle on the site. If it were a troll, they'd be signaling sort sort of inside joke or something to take the piss out of us.

I think we can safely rule out a troll indeed. This been going on for three months now...
Secondly, I think we can also rule out incompetence. No way Warp would allow this to happen.
See what they pulled off with TH 2013 ARG. They simply won't have someone mess up with the forthcoming stuff like this. If it's messing up alright, to me all of this is 100% deliberately done.

The best explanation is that the site is going to serve a purpose again. The recent activity makes me wonder if it’s for the 30th anniversary instead of the new release.

Maybe they are genuinely having problems. Maybe they're dealing with a hellish interface

After such a complex and nuanced release campaign for TH, I refuse to believe someone messing about on the backend of a 12 year old website has anything to do with a new album. If these changes followed some kind of pattern, or offered any kind of breadcrumb I might get excited. But they don’t.

It means we're in a theatre waiting for the play to start and every now and again someone behind the curtain accidentally nudges it with an elbow.

I'll be excited when the house lights dip

Who says it has to do with a new album? We speculate this maybe has to do with BoC in general.

Messing about on the backend? But it's also frontend changes all of us witness. Don't tell me "nobody home..." _with_ morsecode was a mere accident, a simple byproduct of some Warp intern tinkering? That at least had to be on purpose. What purpose? I don't know.

Another thing the obvious visibility of a login form for 3 whole days. Clearly they could've put that online somewhere else than the root of the website where all of us, again, could see it.

It's like you said, Warp is not incompetent. Hence what we're seeing has some sort of meaning otherwise they would've shut it down and hired some other development agency.
It's been going on for too many months to call it some accidental human error.

As always, I admire your optimism, Fredd-E, even if I don’t agree with you.

Love this. Then why are you bringing all this stuff up in the speculation thread about the new album?

Just face it, their fanbase is just not that important to them. No interviews, no tours, no new music, no communication whatsoever in over 10 years.

People on here get so hung up on their parasocial relationship with BOC that every little blip of data on their website or socials must imply a direct message to their fans. It’s not. They very obviously do not care.

You may be mistaking an artists’ (rare) aversion to enabling & participating in celebrity idol worship, which exults regular people over other regular people, and turns things to be shared into tools of control, for “not caring about their fanbase”. And having cognizance & disdain for celebrity worship would correlate also with not centring your life around your music persona regardless of how popular it is.

Aren’t you guys tired of the constant dichotomy between “every blip is a masterful move & coded message” and “they don’t care about me and are gone forever”?

Fair point, although i would argue “ aversion to enabling & participating in celebrity idol worship “ doesn’t mean you can’t incidentally share information about (the lack of) upcoming projects or gigs. But even that is not happening.

I’m not bitter, i wish nothing but good things on them, but i genuinely believe they’re not thinking of us here at Twoism at all.
Which is fine, i’m just not going to cope by acting like BoC are deliberately feeding us these digital breadcrumbs all the time.

Mea culpa, sorry, you're right, the whole discussion about cosecha-transmisiones.com should be held in multiple separate topics. One for people thinking it's related to a new album, another one for those who think it's more loosely connected to BoC. Why not a third topic where doomers can discuss it because they believe it has nothing to do with BoC at all? A bit silly, don't you think?
  • No interviews? 2018 Pitchfork
  • No new music? Mr Mistake (+ instrumental), Sisters, Sometimes, (Societas x Tape), Dead Dogs Two (instrumental), Treat Em Right (+ instrumental), (production work on The Sexual Objects)
  • No communication? Whether you like it or not, their sparse activity is valid communication.

Perhaps because you don't want to see it?
  • Indirect: MDG, their spokesperson, informed us in summer 2022 a new album is on its way
  • Direct: their official IG acknowledged 38! comments all revolving around the topic of new music

They don't care indeed and that's why BoC (via MDG) got Twoism involved in 2013 TH ARG and again in 2022 with MDG's message to Babylulu. I genuinely believe they do appreciate their loyal positive fans.

I think we all quickly forget all of the little signs that have happened over the last 3 years. If you take each one in a vacuum, it could possibly seem inconsequential, but when you get the whole scope, everything starts to point that the release is inevitable. I'm not sure if the site will be used for a new album, but the activity appears to be controlled. And why wouldn't they use an old site that has been lying dormant for over a decade? Isn't that romantic that a small outdated site somehow becomes relevant again?

Thanks for the overview, Fred.

Yet here we are, none the wiser.

I do find it difficult to look collectively at the website changes, merch drop, Instagram likes or any other scraps of information you want to throw into the melting pot and honestly say it points to new music being released imminently, album or not. There is nothing to indicate that for me and I just it's just conjecture at this point.

But hey, each to their own and all that, believe what you want to believe. I'll just wait for the official confirmation rather doing my own head in micro-analysing non-information.
