Well, I'm not a Patreon of them but I take your word for it. As much as I like Sometimes (the boc remix edition) for me this is not great news indeed.
The original 2017 remix of Sometimes is definitely a good song.
I would find it unfortunate and questionable if they simply gave this song a new title so they could include it on this album by The Sexual Objects. This does mean that this song will probably be available on streaming services for the very first time. You could feel the silver lining.
We can only guess at their intentions. Sometimes I wish I had LP5.
Maybe when we all stop talking about a new album and Twoism goes quiet then one day when we are out Saturday shopping and pop into our local HMV record store a big BoC album will appear on the shelves.
Coincidentally, back in 2005 that’s exactly how I bought The Campfire Headphase on CD. I’d been a fan since MHTRTC and anticipated Geogaddi, but I was that wrapped up in life at the time that I didn’t even know of a 3rd album release. Whilst in town with a mate, we went to the pub and the barmaid looking through my bag, picked out the stained cover of Campfire and put it on in the pub. There was only about 6 people in. It was on for about 4 minutes until she said “this is shite” and turned it off before putting some Tracey Chapman on or some shite like that.

The 12 versions of OVIT could be a reference to Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that no one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with their privacy, family, home, or correspondence, and everyone has the right to protection against such interference.
They could also be referring to Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which states that children have the right to be listened to and taken seriously.
Of course it’s a reference to the show being over. Nobody home. Complete silence and a redirect to Dead seeds or whatever it translates as. We’re not getting new Boards of Canada. They’re enjoying coming up to retirement age soon. They gave you all that you needed to know.

Retirement age? The boys are only in their 50s. You are acting like they are ancient. Give the brothers a break, they haven't got long gray beards yet. We've seen the master tape already on instagram, but the internet is evil! I don't think they want to digitize it just yet.
This is disappointing. I think at best we can hope for an official music video for The Protection of Happiness Generator created by PIG. Supplementing the “official” video by Triassic Tusk, labeling them as two different creations.

One Very Important Thought is not about the show being over. It's about freedom of speech and censorship.
Posting it just when the UK enacts the Online Safety Act (censorship and invasion of privacy under the guise of protecting the children) is significant. Posting it 12 times is an obvious reference to Article 12, which anyone passionate about free speech and censorship knows very well.
If they were completely done with releasing music, I don't see why they wouldn't announce that and take themselves and us off the hook.

I'm sure BoC and friends hope they're not done with releasing music either. Heck, I've been saying I want to make another album and tour again for over 5 years now and I've done extremely little to make it happen. Life is hard and making music is a very time consuming passion with very little financial gain. I wouldn't be surprised to hear they come together a few times a month to jam in a studio and then end up doing nothing but talking about some novel they're reading or whatever. That's certainly no way to get Geogaddi-level jams going. I hope I'm wrong and they're applying unseen levels of anal perfectionism and we get something cool, but I've met enough "I'm still pro, just don't have any time at all with these damn kids and family bbqs" musicians to know how this sort of thing tends to go. The days of locking themselves up in a nuclear bunker are long gone. And this is all fine and beautiful and more important than a new BoC album. Just not gonna hold my breath or pretend there is any form of fandom-meat left on these bones.
