There was a version of the Peel Sessions made by the brothers in 1998 and given to friends. There are only 5 copies of this CD. IIRC the only person known to have one is DJ Food a known friend of the band who has produced two well-known mixes of Boards' songs. He recently released the second of these mixes which included material from Societas.

A strange comment on the YouTube video by Jadeite427:

After a bit of research it seems like this specific batch of tracks are the “bonus mystery tracks” included in rare pressings of the 1998 Peel Session CDs (which also included the Meat Beat remix).
Iirc the rip of “Finity” on here originally came out as “Track 07” on SoundCloud back in 2019 and, if the track listing is correct, then everything just checks out.
I’ve also read around that sources of the CD come from the 90s so likely pressed 1998-1999. It would also explain why the bonus “mystery” tracks still have bits of other tracks cross fading as BoC likely sourced from the original Old Tunes collections tapes instead of the original original sources.

I walk back my comments, it seems listening with proper headphones songs on this are much better than the 'best' of previous leaks. But I wasn't aware of 'A Few Old Tracks' one thats a bit of an oddity to me. Same with the 1996 Mixtape labeled leak.

The new version of BMX Track seems to be most mind blowing. Did they perhaps change that squeaky sample for Peel Session or were previous leaks actually that bad? Or both?

Whatever the case may be with babylulu can we not attack them and obsess over digging into who they are/what their source was?

I've been a BoC fan all my life and I get that we are desperate for news/action to come from the brothers, but this is helping nothing.

Let's take everything they've said so far at face value for a moment and stop looking into it any deeper; They've got a release from an anonymous source and shared it. Now not only is that anonymous source is looking at all this scrutiny and paranoia, babylulu is also exhausted dealing with all of this as well, I'm sure. Say another potential anonymous source also manages to connect with babylulu, I'm sure these conversations will run through their mind when they think over whether or not they should share that release, too.

Its probably not very complicated, I would have released this in a similar fashion if I stumbled upon some fresh tapes. If anything not having any cryptic bullshit around, or a huge sprawling post about how it was found, makes it more legit.

But yeah, 98% sure this is real now. Really amazing

Stated I could not care less who their source is, and specifically I don't need names / see the point there.
All I said was people have a right to be skeptical given all the previous fakes and hype out there and to desire more context. Obviously that isn't going to happen but that's fine.

They were even flattered I gave them more credit than they are probably owed for being responsible for 'behind the scenes' things so I doubt they themselves are upset by my posts.

It's also still worth scrutinizing whether these are Peel Session bonus tracks, other than that random YouTube post reply, I don't think I've ever heard that theory before. Doesn't mean it can't be true, but sounds off is all.

Imagine if a steward of the band or a musician who was close to them
offered to share unreleased music with you.
The sole reason ... for you to distribute to the community.
Only catch, the original source stays anonymous.

What kind of person would you be to go against that request and disrespect someone's privacy.
