it happened again. I had a "Boards of Canada released a new album" dream.
this time, one of them had written a memoir (I obtained a copy in hardcover).
the front cover image was a picture of them as two young boys.
very Geogaddi-esque color scheme, but the picture itself was very Siamese Dream.
I was enjoying the book but a nearby inhabitant of my dream (was it my wife ?) had to explain to me what it was (a book, by Boards of Canada).

I was struggling with an online portal to buy tickets for the accompanying tour.

I did (of course !) hear some new songs. but (alas !) I can'not recall them any longer.

Even those of us who have only prowled and sparingly posted in the last two decades… You joined this forum almost 9 years after their last LP release…

I think you’ll find a better digital home on Reddit, possibly in some white alpha male Generation Z stronghold where cruel remarks and shame is a currency. (I hear Andrew Tates subreddit and other incel strongholds respond most favorably to the type of energy you’re wanting to bring here).

I would only ask that if you continued to stay here, you fully adopt the same shameless and corny mindset, in other words: please read the room.

Be patient with this one, he’s obviously another lost Gen Zer, a wayward soul who made a detour on his way back to 4chan and his ‘power lifting bro’ communities.

It’s possible he’s at the end of his test 600 doping cycle, and estrogen blockers aren’t made like they used to be. Just wish him well, and continue on continuing on! It’s always 1998 on twoism and that’s what I love about this place!

I’ve noticed as well that all my ‘new BOC album release’ dreams always include a fear of not reacting in time to get a seat on their accompanying tour! We share the same phobia!

longtime lurker of this forum I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this and had to comment on it.

BOC's fan base is probably aging the worst compared to most of the other IDM or electronic music artists out there. Most of the guys on Reddit hate if you compare their sound to anything new or remotely close to BOC. It's almost beyond a cult-like mentality and becoming straight delusion.

That being said there's a lot of incredible people like Fredd-E and others in this community that strive to grow BOC's influence instead of gatekeeping it for themselves.

I try to ignore the subreddit as much as possible but I can't help but laugh at the morons who think their parasocial interaction is providing any kind of purpose other than looking like complete stalkers.

Yeah. I'm also thinking that as well. A new release sounds possible, I suspect that it'll either be summer as spring release seems a bit to quick... or October ish time...

If anything, we should be seeing signs soon. There was a lot of activity last year, an unusual amount more. Maybe its building up?

First rumblings of the followup to TCH LP came about in 2007. Aka: six years in advance of its release.

MDG shared "a new album is on its way" in June 2022. I'll give BoC at least the same six years.

That deadline would be June 2028. Gotta give them some credit.

Knowing that Marcus studied AI in the 90s they're probably interested in the new tech that's making the rounds. I wonder if they could dabble in making AI-assisted audio experiments or if that's beyond them. Like in Telephasic Workshop the speech samples always reminded me of some kind of AI hallucinating. Some hypnagogic, incoherent stream-of-consciousness type of thing. I actually had that thought way before the recent AI revolution. Now they could make something like that for real.
