Torrentialtrain transcribed the VHS in another thread, and it makes repeated mentions of a hexagon flexi-disc?!!
Re: V/H/S Beyond or FUDLARP
They did say they probably weren't going to do an ARG again so the lack of any obvious codes doesn't worry me too much. But you know, maybe there is something there, maybe they changed their minds, maybe maybe maybe.
Tell you what though for what its worth I am ususally the first person on here to say "its not real" but this I 100% believe. Just smells like them in a way past hoaxes didn't, you know?

I also said this elsewhere but the bit that sells it FOR ME is the fact that the tapes come straight from the Ochre (i.e. Bleep) address. IIRC it would be highly illegal to claim this falselyNegamuse wrote:They did say they probably weren't going to do an ARG again so the lack of any obvious codes doesn't worry me too much. So mystery hexagon tape from Bleep HAS to be the real deal. As to if its an actual new album or the BoCset or something new entirely time will tell. That said I do feel like theres something hidden on the tape But I can't say what LMAO
Re: V/H/S Beyond or FUDLARP
When asked about it by RA, Warp didn't respond at all. They could have just said 'nope ain't us' and nipped this in the bud nice and quickly. They'd also never admit to it happening until the truth was fully out there . It's a positive sign.Negamuse wrote:Tell you what though for what its worth I am ususally the first person on here to say "its not real" but this I 100% believe. The tapes look far too professional to be elaborate hoaxes. Warp also would have confirmed they were fake by now, especially after Resident Advisor asked and got nothing back. Woohoo!

An aside: fudlarp is a welcome addition to the vocabulary as a portmanteau of acronyms. I look forward to using it. Some examples: “The comment section devolved into pure fudlarp within minutes.” “He’s not actually worried, he’s just fudlarping for engagement.” “No, that’s fudlarp!.”

The excitement of these tapes made me come with it on the spot; thanks I am a little proud of it as wellAlvin wrote:An aside: fudlarp is a welcome addition to the vocabulary as a portmanteau of acronyms. I am past the point of 'is this a scam (SKAM?)' and have progressed to 'itshappening.gif'
While it will be fun to watch it be dissected, I also think there isn't going to be any clear messaging other than that new material is coming, and imminently. My unsubstantiated gut tells me it's a sign of new material, not a BoCset.

So do I! Im new here, been aware of Twosim for quite a while now, never gotten round to joining, but reading all the speculation and excitement over these tapes totally tipped me over the edge into coming along.

The tape is a work of art in and of itself. It’s incredibly mysterious, reserved and sinister. It’s like last dying breath of a super old VHS tape played in 2026 before it’s so degraded the player just won’t play it anymore

Just my opinion, but it seems a bit on the nose at best and maybe even cliche at this point. Compared to the cosecha records which I would say do stand alone as individual works of art. Not complaining by any means, but these tapes just feel like a means to an end for me.Altruizine wrote:The tape is a work of art in and of itself. It’s incredibly mysterious, reserved and sinister. Re: V/H/S Beyond or FUDLARP
exactly. the trend for collecting vhs tapes in 2013 was no where near as close as 2026. vinyl made sense in '13 and a vhs cassette tape makes sense in '26.Altruizine wrote:The tape is a work of art in and of itself. I dont have a strong opinion one way or the other. I do like the actual footage on the video it's pretty sweet but I feel like we're already done digesting the easter eggs unless there have been glaring omissions. lots of the subliminal imagery has been captured and speculated upon.MyKneesAreCold wrote:Just my opinion, but it seems a bit on the nose at best and maybe even cliche at this point. That said, if we dont get more of a drip in a few days or next week or two, of LP5 or some musics, I'm going to totally sour internally. lol
There's at least 10 tapes in circulation that we know of, and likely more. the vinyls were much more of a goose chase. Here people literally don't have to do anything except receive a package and be at the same residence where they ordered records or t shirts.
In any case, pretty sure this is more a WARP thing than a BOC thing as hard as it may be to distinguish.
Record company needs to sell records and get the word out there, BOC just needs to exist and release what they've been recording - though that seems like a struggle for them as well as the perfectionists that they are. We'd take boc's self perceived slop and call it a Mona Lisa.

Re: V/H/S Beyond or FUDLARP
It does seem less participatory than last time. I was intrigued by the fact one of the tapes has a different texture, and more importantly looks to be twice the length of the others…
I would be more wowed by the tapes if I hadn’t been tricked by the excellent “Strange Soup” wild goose chase a few years back! They did a really good job with the ARG elements I thought.
One of the learnings from that was that, a lot was read into things where there was no hidden message. I wonder if the BOC tape is in some way a reference to the fakes. They must have seen them.
I really wish I had a tape though. Thats a very cool bit of merch!

Maybe I'm easy to please. I agree it's not some genre-defining artistic achievement but "means to an end" seems perfectly appropriate for something like thisMyKneesAreCold wrote:Just my opinion, but it seems a bit on the nose at best and maybe even cliche at this point. There was an user here that pranked everyone by commissioning a vinyl record (Hopper Bay, i think) and then proceeded to eat a chunk of the cover.fujee wrote:The tapes look far too professional to be elaborate hoaxes.
I'm not saying the tapes are fake, in fact i believe this to be the real deal. But don't doubt the lengths people go to pull a prank!
