Alex Jones is not on the VHS tape, however. the image that the OP is claiming is 'Alex Jones' from the tape looks absolutely nothing like Alex Jones in '99 or any other time.

Yes, I have just read a bit deeper and can't even find a time code they are referencing. Its a very close source indeed but yeah, Alex Jones and Paul Chuckle. Sadly not on the tape....

the BBC doc...Fungi: The Rotten World Around Us 1983? that's the one i saw linked on Reddit...doesn't look like the same as the VHS clip based on the timestamp i saw someone mention, 51:44 -
it's fungi expanding, yes, but not the same clip that's in the VHS.

I think it's the same, just in the VHS it's been rotated 180, cropped in slightly tighter and obviously sped up.

shapes of the fungi growth aren't the same. i could be wrong, but the shapes/designs/exact growth patterns i was looking for didn't seem to line up. please do crop and speed up to compare and share

There's one unique track, the ident, (titled 'Warp: Warp Selections') on Warp's recent BoC-themed playlist Vernal Equinox.
Incidentally, the playlist's image is similar to a clip of the sun in the VHS.

Anyway, the unique track has an image, pasted below.

It contains morse code.

This pattern reminds me of a printer alignment sheet, or something similar. The sort that is used in industrial printing or packaging systems, where you feed the alignment template to calibrate the system

At this point this is getting nothing short of maddening, people are posting their discoveries which are things that were already discovered a day or two ago, different communities discovering things at a different rate than others, we're all just running around in circles currently... I don't think there's anything further to discover here until a tape owner reveals otherwise

dont have one or anything but they’re definitely applied on top of the tapes with ink (or whatever the standards are idk) cause theres a hole the hexagon white overlaps and you can see the divot

The tape is pretty boring now. It’s not really pointing at anything other than perhaps there’s something new to come. But the tape itself is of no artistic value at all. It’s uninspiring, feels rushed and without any other meaning than -

It would be fantastic if BoC released any future new music on VHs tape only. No CD’s digital or vinyl. But some shitty aged VHS tape pulled from the dustbin. That would be total dedication to their art form and interests. I think it would be quite amusing.
