Great news!! Sounds like Hannah Spencer led a great campaign focusing on wages, cost of living, basics services and the NHS and people responded to that. I don’t post about politics much but I’ve voted for the Greens here in Australia at every opportunity (I’ve never voted for the 2 traditional major parties).

Indeed. I cannot emphasise how much I despise the current iteration of the Labour party. Filled with irredeemable cunts.

I'm all for this green wave, the UK sure could use a change of pace after all these years of idiocracy. But if they do win they'll probably disappoint still, such is politics. But go gettem!

To describe the Labour Right? Absolutely essential.

It's especially satisfying to see Labour fuck it up so badly. Telling a large portion of the traditional Labour base that the 'door is open and you can leave'. How did that work out, Morgan?

Being told for years we need 'adults in the room', only for those so-called sensibles to fumble the biggest parliamentary majority in a generation. Lap it up, you morons. This is your mess.

Peter fucking Mandelson. Risible.

Zack Polanski, the Green party leader, is Jewish and was voted in by 85% of the party.

Here's one of the sensibles we have in government. So glad I didn't vote Labour in '24. And I likely never will again. Fuck them.

I think some of the challenges for the Greens gaining wider acceptance are perceived contradictions in their stance. Obviously technology continues to be more and more important in the world but some would assume that in order to prioritise Nature you have to be a Luddite. Another issue is world population, I used to believe in the intractability of the ‘population bomb’ problem, now I think there are ways we can continue to grow world population while also improving environmental sustainability. It’s a challenge but it’s doable.

I don't know too much about UK politics, but seeing the decline of the Labour party since Jezza is real. What is it with centre-left politicians always wanting to appeal to the moderates? It always fucking fails.

Hope the Greens can gain enough momentum to slap Reform and this Farage cunt in his face.

I'm hopeful. One of the things that always got me about Corbyn was his stance on the press. They made up some awful shit about him but his response was always to not engage out of principle.

In a lot of ways, that's valid but it meant he didn't have any response to things, lies went unchecked, and he got absolutely savaged by them. There comes a point where turning the other cheek doesn't make the bullying stop, you know? And in the end it did for his support.

Zack on the other hand seems to be a lot more media aware, and ready to bash back often in funny ways. Like it or not you kind of have to have a way to keep on top of these things and it looks like he is so far

Polanski is so much better as a media communicator, for sure. It's almost amusing to see the press, in real time, as they did with Corbyn, flailing around and trying different attack lines and so far all they seem to do is increase support.
