Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
I love how quick some people on reddit are to cr*p on the posters! I thought they looked cool. Remind me of all the b-movies I rented from my local VHS place.
The longer BoC took to release something, the more people will expect it to be a life-changing event. When it finally comes, people won’t be able to accept it on its own terms, more on their own expectations. I hope BoC are happy with the record and its not an attempt at fan appeasement

It is the brothers complete disregard for what we think that makes them so damn good.

I know right? Whether they're official or not (and I'm assuming they are) they made me laugh in that on the one hand they're kind of horrific imagery but like it's so Boards. It's like the worst possible way of interpreting the phrase "psychedelic portraits of children smiling". The devil is once again in the details.Electronaldmcdonald2 wrote:I love how quick some people on reddit are to cr*p on the posters! I thought they looked cool. So damn creepy and fitting the vibe of the video to a tee, I don't know what people are seeing that they're not feeling that.
Can't wait to see what kind of music is living at the end of this
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
I completely disagree with you there…. to me it is exactly what I want. Horror-core Let’s Go!! I love their weirder and more abstract darker stuff. Always haveWildfire wrote:It is the brothers complete disregard for what we think that makes them so damn good.
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
these were fun. it's a shame they don't go quite as big as afx.

Yeah, I agree y'all. I am so thrilled with everything I have seen thus far. Only more fun and fantastic imagery to come... I can be a really critical fucker sometimes too, and I can't say that ANYTHING I have seen yet has been even remotely disappointing. I think some seem to want artists to be exactly who they were when they were at their peak as a fan. That seems boring to me. The last thing I'd want is for any artist to be stuck in a certain time frame, never to evolve out of it (coughrollingstones)
I would always rather grow up and grow with an artist than not. Heck, on Tomorrow's Harvest, they were in their early forties, now they are in their mid-fifties. I want to hear what they have to say now more than ever before, and however they want to say it. I feel the same with recent Thom Yorke material. Shit! Where the heck did The Smile come from?! Amazing stuff! It took growth and breaks to get there...
I love that these guys are getting wiser with their years and seem to have more to say now in a different way than in the past. Here's to aging and growing. Here's to changing and evolving. I am all here for it, as many are. Keep it going, however you want, BOC brothers.

Long time lurker and I actually forgot I have an (11 years old) account here. So great to see all the activity and discoveries. I think the tapes are some sort of 'Golden Ticket' for either a listening party or maybe for a download or code that appears in the tape owners Bleep accounts? Fingers crossed and eyes open!
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
I wonder if any tapes will be sent to South America. Who knows! I guess not... It's always focused on Europe and North America. Who cares about the rest of the world! haha
Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
I agree, someone in Suriname should get a tape. payback for bad bunny forgetting them!vinir4mos wrote:I wonder if any tapes will be sent to South America. Who knows! I guess not... It's always focused on Europe and North America. Who cares about the rest of the world! haha

Ah I see, there were two opposite ways to read your post.Wildfire wrote:Sorry old sport, you've completely and utterly lost me, I was replying to the post above me.Soul_Slip wrote:I completely disagree with you there…. to me it is exactly what I want. I read it again now properly as "What makes them so damn good is their complete disregard for what we think". I agree completely.
Roygbiv was nearly 30 years ago, and what BoC have been doing ever since then has been moving further and further away from the sweet naive MHTRTC melodies stuff. Bring on the more abstract, interesting explorations.

Naive? I think when the album is released you’ll appreciate how all these albums are connected. I believe this one will represent the shadow self as we all internalise God, the universe into this new epoch of society.
Lots of changes to come. Lots of darkness. Hope they can get the album out before it all collapses.

I misread your nuance there as Outhudd pointed outWildfire wrote:Sorry old sport, you've completely and utterly lost me, I was replying to the post above me.Soul_Slip wrote:I completely disagree with you there…. to me it is exactly what I want. I’m excited to see if they send out stems for anyone to remix like they did with Campfirehp. They gave a nod to Filmmaker on societas x tape so I’d love to see someone new like that do an official remix. I was bummed it didn’t happen with TH

Re: GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II
Why do you think they’re still referencing cults?
- because they believe they’re responsible for one?
- they were in one?
- they believe you’re in one?
- they believe a big one is coming?
- want to wake you up from one?
What is it?

Society is in a cult, we just don't see it because we're in it.

That’s not an answer. Plus it’s a completely obvious statement. What I’m asking is what is BoCs modus operandi?dana wrote:Society is in a cult, we just don't see it because we're in it.

I think they're still referencing cults because it's the creative conduit that inspires them with all of the subliminals and such. That is all. They probably do math problems for fun. Nerds.
