Hi. I'm new here but not new to BOC. Recent events related to mysterious VHS tapes brought me here. ;) Greets from Poland!

Hi there,
I didn't have an account until there, but since I received a VHS yesterday (I'm in France) I had to register.
I'm not crazy about speculative work, but still interested, so happy to help anyway.

hey!
i got to know BOC thanks to one game, it was something of "love from the first listen" xD (if you wonder it was Julie and Candy)

i have been on read-only mode in this forum for a couple of years, watching the thread with speculation about the new album, but after the news with the tapes i decided to register x)

Hello, discovered the BOC when I was maybe 10 and have been a huge fan since. Favourite song is probably Telephasic Workshop (live version!), it's impossible to pick. This is my first time witnessing an album coming out from the brothers so very excited.

hello, happy to be here. Big fan since discovering their music just 6 years ago - and only in the last few months have I given their EPs and old tapes a proper listen. New album hype brought me here ;-)

Top 3 tracks off the top of my head without giving it too much thought because I'd change my mind, Happy Cycling, Alpha & Omega, In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country

Greetings from Brooklyn NY. I’ve been BoC OCD since the late 90’s.

hi, fan since seeing Sinister 2012 in theaters.
Love eerie and uncanny things so a lot of their catalog tickles that itch for me.

Lovely place you have here.
Excited for the potential of a new release.

Hi, I’m Sasha. I’m a graphic designer for film (specializing in props, printed media, and fictional brands) and I'm a massive music nerd. I have no interest in making music, but since my teens, I’ve been obsessed with understanding music genres, styles, classification, and analysis. While storing FLAC files w/o any particular purpose, I started building my own taxonomy and taking notes on artists.

To those around me, I’ve always been a walking encyclopedia and someone who loves talking about music, but online I’m mostly an observer, follower, and quiet reader (except for my Instagram, which expresses my fixation on street photography, graffiti and the aesthetics of construction work).

I’ve always known that when the time finally came, I’d just step in and be proactive, but didn’t realize Reddit would stop me from participating in r/boardsofcanada, complain about my suspicious activity or even shadowban me.

Then I remembered I have my Twoism account — so here I am.

Hello everyone. Finally decided to join, I am a fan from a small town in Mexico.

I discovered Boards of Canada in 2001 when I was in high school using the all music guide, which was a great encyclopedia to discover music, and I was able to download a couple of songs from limewire (I was not aware of soulseek:(. I was very interested in the songs but was not fully immersed until 2003, when I travelled to the US and I was able to finally buy the blue and orange CDs (that how I called them) and listen what they really were about. They became my favorite act immediately.

Not big in social media so my usual way to be updated is checking wikipedia every month or so. So I missed all the Tomorrow's Harvest show. Fortunately I am subscribed to BoC's youtube, and today in the morning I was completely blown away.

I can just say that I feel that today I am a different person than yesterday. I have been wanting to share my emotions with people who are living something similar. I was aware of Twoism for a long time but finally I decided to join.

PD Bocol or Bocolito is a traditional dish made from corn in the region where I live, Huasteca in San Luis Potosi, that's how I chose my name.

It’s great to see so many new members joining and discovering Twoism after all this time. I honestly don’t know how some of you managed to overlook twoism.org in the past decades even more some since we got included in the whole TH ARG...

Either way, I hope you enjoy your time here and feel very welcome!

Decided to check on this thread and the first post to load up was yours.

I thought to myself...Aesthetics is old as the hills in these parts.

Sure enough, your account pre-dates mine by 3 years.

Good to see you're still around. So am I, apparently.

More importantly, welcome to all the newbs.

Hello, I'm Andrew. Fan of 25 years since I heard Dawn Chorus on some stealing music site, not Napster. I bought plenty of material to make up for that one song. So excited about the new tape 05 and a new album. Thanks and I love you...

As solid as tree here (as my avatar ;)) although I almost gave up on twoism a couple of months ago. At times, it has been genuinely exhausting trying to find the right balance between what should and should not be allowed on Twoism.

Unfortunately, there are always a few users who enjoy pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable on the forum. That in itself is part of running an online community, but when it turns into constant monitoring and repeated intervention, it becomes draining, especially when you also have a life outside of the forum.

The team has had a difficult time with this on occasion, and Fredd-E in particular has had to deal with quite a few hateful remarks thrown his way. I suppose he is having his moment of vindication now.
There was a point where I was honestly ready to call it quits, but thankfully the storm passed and things have settled back into what feels a bit like the old days again.

It’s genuinely great to see users finding their way back to the community, and to see that 99.5% of the posts are simply fun, respectful, and positive. <3
