It is all a goodbye. They ploughed through this last album for their fans and with that comes their final adieu. To jeu and jeu and jeu. And they will live happily ever after. And so will we. Plenty of music to go 'round and if your life feels empty without BoC: go do something about it.

Aw, don't feel like it's goodbye. Think of it as coming out of the woods to realize that all the bad stuff is over and now it's time to reset, adjust to a life of freedom, because the nuclear holocaust/fascism/starvation/war/poverty/animal cruelty/child labor/capitalism/asteroid impact created a new timeline for us to live within.
Think of it like waking up one morning and noticing that the sun is just a little bit brighter than it was the day before, and looking outside to realize that the loud dystopia we've been living in is suddenly replaced with quiet and calm.

I don't know. This song feels like the culmination of something truly beautiful, and it would only be that beautiful because of the horrors that came before it. We needed the depressing outlook that Tomorrow's Harvest gave us so we can truly appreciate this little glimpse of the new world.

It's not a complete goodbye, but it does feel like they're acknowledging the notion that "we've been on this journey, and now we're here (hear)"

It seems like they're just being poignant about what has happened, what is, and where it will go. They have a tenacity for reflection and a demonstrative ability to envision the nightmares of the future.

To be honest the more I listen to it the more I come to suspect this material is meant as closure. A send-off to Boards of Canada as an artistic entity. First off, when analyzing the motifs, the melody kicking off at 0:50 is clearly Hi Scores, then later (2:30) when the organ comes in it is very remindful of Buckie High in its chord arrangment; both beacons of their early career. The plucked harp that is so talked about sounds crisp enough to be a live recording (which makes sense, if we guide ourselves by what the brothers themselves claimed their process is) moving along a major scale, tonally reminiscent of TCH whereas the rest of the song has a distinct Tomorrow's Harvest feel, only a mite more drone-y, with an impressive breadth of different tracks fused together along the song (whatever ends up as its actual title) condensing in something which is strangely captivating and complex in texture —where Tim Hecker comparisons, if any, can be drawn— before the release into more familiar, emotionally resonant territory. Therein lies a hope for what the LP will actually sound like, an album that isn't just commemorative and BoC-ish but moves forward and casts an atmosphere of its own.
Even more importantly: the brothers are quite old by this point. Regardless of what has kept them from releasing music for the past 13 years isn't prone to shift overnight.
So all things considered a final statement (together with an EP or a mixtape of not-so-old tunes) sounds all too likely.
