It's one track, not an album, and why would they refer to their albums as tapes? Especially when thet have literally been sending out video tapes. I think there's more to it, related to the VHSs - no idea what, though.

Can't help but think the HQ versions of the Old Tunes were given the go ahead by the powers that be as a little warm up to get the hype going leading up to this release?
I've been struggling to put it into words until recently, but I feel like Tape 05 seems like a complete statement about humanity and their vision of it. There's a huge emphasis on the failure and beauty of Human attempts to create new communal spaces in America, specifically. I feel like they're embedding the darkest, most prescient aspects of modern life within the context of the desire for humans to find meaning, order, and community. The music sounds like this to me, and also sums up the inevitable peace or silence that will follow the departure of humanity from the planet, likely due to our own self-caused extiction.
I should also mention that humans in general tend to gravitate towards imperfect group organizations or movements for well intended reasons, but often it becomes a vessel for power.
The closest, modern cult movement that is especially dark now is imo the Trump Cult / Death Cult that is still latched onto this destructive American Imperialist notion that we can control and maintain the world. America is falling apart, and BoC is writing the score to it

But, I was poking around in the boards of canada website and I was focusing on this platform called "klaviyo" they are using as its what is actually holding all of our email addresses. I.. might have broke it? You know, maybe done a few things and now my profile is all wonky but anyway, just wanted to point out that its an AI Marketing/Platform company they are using. https://www.klaviyo.com/uk/ Thats where the email is going to, not sure if I am okay with this. I did not realise. I don't like supporting stuff with AI in it. Maybe think twice before giving your email address...

There's nothing wrong with pointing out where the data is going. Also, this is a speculation thread how rude. Plus with how people feel about AI today you know? It would have been nice to just at least have a info text that says where its going to get used instead, but there wasn't. That's all. Also, take a closer look at the software. Because its actually a hint on the purpose of the website in general. We are being heavily tracked for a reason. Just thought i'd make everyone aware thats happening... with clankers!
I can’t help but be sure that this roll out will be even more ‘epic’ (in the true sense of the word) than what TH delivered. I just can’t see them settling for anything less.

Klaviyo is a standard marketing and automated mailing service used by shopify, wix and probably also Ochre. So chances are this is just the standard service that bleep or warp uses for promotional mailing. Wiich is not something chosen be BOC themselves, and i doubt they are even involved with upkeeping their website. Klaviyo is also proposing AI services mostly because everyone has to do AI these days, à la dotcom bubble. That doesn't mean that BOC or Warp is using AI.

The weird thing with entering your email into boardsofcanada.com is that there was no confirmation and no way of removing your email from the list, they should fix this as it is probably breakling a few laws in quite a few countries.
