Also, don't think the leak had anything to do with the reveal. After the 3pm update last week and the header changes at the same time today I was expecting the reveal to probably land around now.

Of course the leak had everything to do with the reveal today. There was a slow burn going— teaser, posters, tape, profile picture changes. Then the leak and all at once, title, cover, release date, tracklist, all with over a month to go. It’s unfortunate, but their plans were spoiled by sleuths going through Bleep’s api.

Foul play, but oh well, here we are. Nothing ahead of us but the music now

I just want to say to the Turquoise Hexagon Sun insiders, I'm sorry on the behalf of the community that this leaked early. I was loving the anticipation, the little breadcrumbs, the buildup...

I suppose this was probably something we knew all along might happen and the contingency was there, but still!!

I dunno, I think they were probably planning to release this info today, which is why the API leak ended up coming through only 30 minutes before WARP sent out the emails. It wouldn't surprise me if the redditer who found this was probably repeatedly hammering the API endpoint for new data for the last two weeks.

I don't think this was a leak. The data came from the Bleep API, which is something the website needs. The API allows products to be displayed on the website.

Why i don't think it was a leak: They updated the API with new info (new products), and the website (Bleep) is probably cached in Cloudflare (a CDN provider), so it took a few minutes for the website to catch up to the new data.

Being BOC fans, i'm sure people were monitoring the API data (which is public). That's why we found out first.

Disclaimer: I'm a software developer, so i work with these things. Did plenty of app/websites roll outs in my time.

Yeah, I feel a bit deflated by the leak. They were doing a good job of teasing this out. On the other hand, all we learned looks promising and we have new Boards incoming, so how deflated can I be.

I think they’re going to have a hard time keeping a lid on the album until May 29th, would not be surprised at all if the whole album leaks.

I still can't believe it's really happening. I've only known of this band since 2020 but I have always been eager to see a new release. You're all wonderful, and even if this is their final release, I know it will be one hell of a send off.
