Nah, CDs are in right now! I have been buying up all the cheap CDs I can find and ripping them. Trying to build a legit massive flac archive. Hopefully for something radio station related in the future!

Not at all. I imagine the booklet in the CD is the same production as the booklet in the red vinyl too, although it has more pages.

A big day, but still, so many questions…

Will we be pleased or disappointed?
Silence until the 29th of May?
Will there be a proper single?
Were will the record rank among the other four?
Have they fallen into the «old» band trap and produce bland records after 50?
More or less acoustic than TCH?
Will there be interviews?
Are they still two? Or just the one left? Added a third?
Will there be more albums?

Interesting that on Bleep the digital is "Inferno (Continuous Mix) WAV (24-bit)"

I wonder if that means the digital WAV is one big track. The other BoC albums don't say that. So perhaps the entire album runs together as one singular piece.

I wonder if I should have opted for the limited edition LP. Normally I don't bother with that kind of thing though it would be nice to have the booklet. Surely someone will post pics of the booklet when it is released. Bugger.

I simply had to get the vinyl after knowing there was a special coloured edition and the exclusive booklet, but I don't blame anyone in this economy going fo ar CD as their go to physical option. It's a hell of a lot cheaper. I may get the CD if (WHEN!) I know i'll be listening to this album for years to come.

I'm getting the CD as well. I don't currently have any means to play vinyl. Well, don't currently have any means to play CDs either really but all my other BoC is on CD so.

The track listing is super interesting isn't it. At some point in the near future we aren't going to be able to read those track titles without hearing music in our heads but for now they're just really suggestive phrases and it's fascinating

I think it totally corresponds with what some of us know already that they've been through some personal hell and pain (like many of us), it's maybe like some sort of dealing with, reconciliation, redemption and there's a meaningful output out of it now...

I believe there are some "escapist" trax, but I hope the process has helped them and they are stronger now, that's most important...

B⬡C are indeed true warriors...

Thank you B⬡C and the fans (and bocpages), I admire your courage... :}

Kinda amazed at all the references behind those track titles. It look like a really interesting album to come.

In haste I didn't see that the bundle with tshirt + cap + deluxe vinyl was 5€ cheaper than buying them separetely, which I did. Let's hope that extra money will be used to send me a VHS tape :)

Such good news. The forum broke its record of the highest number of users online today. Happy new BoC everyone!

I felt the forum a bit sluggish today, but it never colapsed like Bleep.

How many years now have they been at it, and they still haven't learned proper punctuation?

Waterbagel! It has been a minute. I love that your avatar still has a carrot in it. Honestly it has been so long I can't recall why that was a thing. Some forum inside joke. Welcome back!

Yo, if there are any listening parties along the west coast of the US I would be honored to hitch a ride! I honor the ass, gas, or grass policy!
what's up!! good to see ya. and good to be back, and to be seen! yes, something along those lines... carrots showed up for a while. maybe back in 2011 or so. I figure, why change now?

doubtful I'll find much on the gulf coast down here, but what a treat that would be. i'll have to head to one of the foresty beaches when it drops. I'll actually be visiting Scotland in July... not holding my breath whatsoever but a surprise show sure would make for quite a honeymoon event

Dude, right on!! This film was the first thing that popped into my head after learning the album title, and seeing the promo vid. It's a personal fave of mine. Love the giallo feels on the new album art

I ended up getting the LE Vinyl and t-shirts/cap bundle. I mostly wanted the shirts to go with it but there wasn't a similar bundle with the CD, so I figure I could buy that format later.

Sheesh, can’t believe it’s happening. This album looks super dark. Preordered the Deluxe LP. The art and title caught me off guard and I love it.

I am hoping they are rocking some wizard / cult leader vibes. Long white beards, robes, and walking staff kinda thing 8)
Apologies if I'm wrong on this...but is this not a new picture? :?:

I found it on Bleep when I clicked on the link to the main BoC page for all Bleep stuff.

https://bleep.com/artist/78-boards-of-canada

I just took a spin thru photos of the band on Bocpages but I didn't see this one. And to my recollection, I've never seen a pic of Mike in a baseball cap! Perhaps that's why they finally did an official cap? :P Anyhoo, love the vibes on this pic if it is indeed new! Definitely in line with the Inferno artstyle.

Possibly. That would explain them labeling it that way. If the double LP sides are split A/C B/D (there's a term for this?) and you have a DJ setup, you can practice keeping it seamless. All still hypothetical, half-serious. I won't worry so much about what digital file(s) WARP sends me through bandcamp - just wanting clarity from them. I will learn to rip CD as one track if that's what it takes.

Crazy thought: what if this is the first of a trilogy - Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso

Tape 05 could've been an overture for the trilogy as it goes from dark to light
