Tape 05 could've been an overture for the trilogy as it goes from dark to light
I noticed when the Inferno page on BOC Pages initially went live, it had a lot more details before, but they were pared down significantly later. Might've been an effort to preserve more mystery for now.

But, it said that this album is intended to encapsulate all 3: 9 levels of hell down, then 9 back up, to Paradiso in the last track

I wonder if that means the digital WAV is one big track. The other BoC albums don't say that. So perhaps the entire album runs together as one singular piece.
Possibly. That would explain them labeling it that way. If the double LP sides are split A/C B/D (there's a term for this?) and you have a DJ setup, you can practice keeping it seamless. All still hypothetical, half-serious. I won't worry so much about what digital file(s) WARP sends me through bandcamp - just wanting clarity from them. I will learn to rip CD as one track if that's what it takes.
The music in the new promo today ends abruptly and made me think it was probably supposed to be blending into something else. Tape 05 faded but had an unresolved chord progression that also hinted at something else coming and made me want a followup beat or something. I think yeah, it's probably all a continuous flow on the actual album.

Apologies if I'm wrong on this...but is this not a new picture? :?:

I found it on Bleep when I clicked on the link to the main BoC page for all Bleep stuff.

https://bleep.com/artist/78-boards-of-canada

I just took a spin thru photos of the band on Bocpages but I didn't see this one. And to my recollection, I've never seen a pic of Mike in a baseball cap! Perhaps that's why they finally did an official cap? :P Anyhoo, love the vibes on this pic if it is indeed new! Definitely in line with the Inferno artstyle.
No, this came out in 2013. https://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/12/arts ... anada.html

I like the idea of listening to the album as one continuous mix. The new video is roughly the same length as Introit but it's interesting how it suddenly cuts off...

That was my thought also - new for them. It might just be the edit, but the abrupt end of the promo vid also made me think this album might have a more Dark-Side-of-the-Moon mix as a continuous piece. Which is exciting.

Anyone else notice the new Nuclear Family is facing away if you look at the feet direction? Sorry if someone else said it.

You know what is really heavy to think about?

Discovered BoC in 2003. Waited two years for TCH. Waited 8 years for Harvest. Now 13.

I HAVE SPENT 23 YEARS JUST WAITING TO HEAR NEW BOC!

Also, howdy Polar Sky and Harpoon Dodger! Been a while!

Mike wears the same hat in pictures from this Campfire Headphase interview. I think it may be a Zero Skateboards logo.

This was one of my first thoughts, especially with some of the disco themes on the SocietasXTape.

Also, there's consistently been 7 Hexagons in the promo material. So, call me crazy, but since the beginning I associated those hexagons with each LP. We may have a Beyonce situation on our hand.

Making a few early bets now:

-"Your choice five" from the SXT was them basically saying "Yo! We've got this tape full of all kinds of stuff we're into, what would you like to see on LP5? Your choice!"
-One of the as-of-yet-still-missing SXT songs is indeed from the upcoming album
-"Tape 05" is almost certainly track 5 "Father and Son", runtimes match up almost exactly
-The reason why the nuclear family is bigger now is because the bros had two more kids, this is also why the new album took so long lmfao
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

It is literally the same font that's on Music Has The Right To Children cover - ITC Bauhaus, it's just larger and bold and upper case. I personally love it, total 70s video nasty vibe.
It's not the same font. Source: I'm a designer.

Aye, I did take a little break from this place since there was no BoCtivity going on for awhile but it feels good to be back lmao. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!
