because it is an unavoidable and overwhelming presence in the music industry? BoC are not infallible either, do we want to talk about their usage of AI in the Dayvan Cowboy music video upscale? or on the Hell Interface Facebook back in 2021?

Good points. There are alternatives however. I hoped they would use those and in that way send a message to the world. It feels conflicting buying the limited red vinyl edition but being able to hear it on spotify first.

They earn money with selling the physical record and services such as bandcamp and alternatives to spotify such as soundcloud and qobuz. If you want to support them like a proper fan, don't use spotify.

Thousands of listens daily, for sure, and hopefully that translates to a proper income but judging to what is known about Spotify I doubt it. The article is one in many that explains a bit about this. I found it rather insightful.

I think any attention to the fact that a streaming service like Spotify is terrible for artists and pointing out that artist make little income with their creations, is a welcome contribution to awareness. As consumers I believe we have the power to choose to what we support and how we contribute.

Spotify is basically like those arcade places, each listen is really a ticket and at the end all you get is a shitty plastic airplane. Total rip off. I have my old discography on there because I was stupid and signed over my soul when I was young. Its now completely stuck there in the most awful quality possible. If I had the choice, I would rip it all down. Not because I'm not making a profit? Just out of principle really.

My initial idea: I'll listen to the digital version on shrooms with my headphones. Really want to open up to it as much as possible.

It will be hard for me to top my first listening experience with TH. I took some shrooms and laid in a tent at night out at a hot springs in Northern California with a nice pair of Sennheisers. A thunderstorm rolled in and during Palace Posy I watched streaks of lightning across the sky and I got a light misting through the mesh of the tent. It was sublime.

Im not sure what I will get up to this time around but if the vinyl arrives in a timely manner I will just sit in front of my Focal 906’s and relax.

Anyway. I will probably listen to Inferno with mostly my eyes closed on decent cans on a soft surface smoking a stanky dooby. Doesn't really matter where that is, as long as its warm and dry. I'm going to take The "continuous mix" digital release as a sign that it should be experienced kind of like watching a movie with your ears.

If I can attend a listening party that wouldn't require me to fly out to a different locale, I might consider doing that - never have before and doing it with a small cadre of like-minded (at least musically) individuals sounds perfect for me. I absolutely could not do a big gathering. Hate crowds.

That said, if something like that *doesn't* come together near me, I'm absolutely fine just listening in isolation in a dim room. That's how I discover most music anyway. I like it as a personal experience.

Oh, and... sorry but I won't be participating in your revolution You'll just have to guillotine me I guess.

I'm going to wait for the CD to come make a 1st listen from it at home. I waited 13 years, so two days or even a week won't be that much. Also will for sure take earphones and listen from spotify (as not a real fan) while taking a walk some evening.

The spot contains actual wooden church pews lined up, facing the river. There is a plaque next to it talking about the historical significance of this "outdoor church". Judging by the nature of this new material in the VHS tapes... might enhance the listening experience, eh.

How about we all travel to an abandoned church with some portable speakers and lie down on the floor in the shape of a hexagram to listen to it. When we know the track durations it's easy to set up the timed ignition to ensure successful mass liberation at the end of the ceremony. May I suggest a location with plenty of vegetation so that the fire will spread easily...

As for how I'm going to listen to the album, I've got some ideas but I'll post about it once it has happened. I still haven't listened to Tomorrow's Harvest and I'm probably going to listen to the new album first
